Abstract:
Various embodiments disclosed herein related to a hand operated cutting tool. The hand operated cutting tool may include a first cutting member; a first handle coupled to the first cutting member; a second handle having a second cutting member; and a pivot connection pivotably coupling the first handle to the second handle. The first cutting member may include a cutting device that defines a bow-shaped cutting profile, wherein the bow-shaped cutting profile facilitates an acceleration of a cut-point position defined by an interaction of the first and second cutting members as the first and second handles move from a fully open position to a fully closed position.
Abstract:
A device, and a method of making the device, having a blank having a rigid handle at a proximal end and a flexible operative end at a distal end are described. The rigid handle and the flexible operative end are joined to each other such that the flexible operative end is configured to be in an arced position when at rest and unopposed, and to resiliently flex to a substantially straight position when opposed. The rigid handle and the flexible operative end may be joined to each other between a pivot point and a proximal end of the device. The device may form hybrid scissors or hybrid forceps.
Abstract:
Scissors (100) are provided with first and second main body parts (1, 2) respectively having a handle (4, 5) and a blade (6, 7), and a rotatable support part (3) for supporting the first and second main body parts (1, 2) in a manner that enables opening and closing. The scissors (100) are further provided with a movable transmitting member (16) attached to the handle (4) of the first main body part (1), a spring (18) provided between the handle (4) of the first main body part (1) and the movable transmitting member (16), and a row of teeth (19, 20) configured to transmit an urging force from the spring (18) to the second main body part (2) through the movable transmitting member (16). The rotatable support part (3) has a shaft (14) and a shaft hole (15) that enables the first and second main body parts (1, 2) to be assembled and disassembled. The rows of teeth (19, 20) are provided on the movable transmitting member (16) and the handle (5) of the second main body part (2), and can be attached or detached from each other when assembling and disassembling the first and second main body parts (1, 2).
Abstract:
A handheld food slicer including a first handle having a plurality of elongated fingers, each finger separated from an adjacent finger by a blade receiving slot, a second handle movably coupled to the first handle and a plurality of blade members spaced to align with the blade receiving slots to mate with the fingers to collectively define a food receiving passageway when the first and the second handles are in an expanded configuration in which a distal end of the first handle is at least partially spaced apart from a distal end of the second handle, the fingers of the first handle configured to pass through the food receiving passageway adjacent the blade members as the first and the second handles move from the expanded configuration towards a compressed configuration in which the distal end of each of the first and the second handles is relatively closer to the other.
Abstract:
The present invention provides scissors comprising a pair of scissor members each of which has a cutting portion, an actuating portion including a finger hole, and a hinge portion interposed between the cutting portion and the actuating portion. The scissor members are slidably interconnected with each other through the hinge portion. Each of the scissor members has at least one assistant finger hole. The scissors of the present invention enable two users to use the scissors at the same time through the finger holes and the assistant finger holes. The scissors of the present invention are especially useful in teaching young children how to use scissors in an easy and safe manner.
Abstract:
Shears with an integrated cable cutter, in particular for electricians, provided with multipurpose blades (1, 2), which are moved by corresponding actuating arms (1e, 2e) that are provided with gripping rings (1f, 2f) and rotational mounting (3), wherein the region of the blades (1, 2) at the rotational mounting (3) has the function of a cable cutter and a cutting edge (1b, 2b) of a substantially parabolic shape, with its focal point near the rotational mounting, on both blades, while the adjoining region towards the tip of the shears has a substantially straight cutting edge on both blades.
Abstract:
A tool that comprises first and second cooperating members, each of the first and second cooperating members comprising at least a jaw section and a handle. The first and second cooperating members are detachably interconnected in a mutually overlapping relationship so as to permit movement of the jaw sections relative to one another by the handles. A first blade comprises at least a first and a second edge and the first edge is counterposed to the second edge across a longitudinal axis of the blade. The first blade is removably juxtaposed to the jaw section of the first cooperating member. A third edge is juxtaposed to the jaw section of said second cooperating member.
