Abstract:
In order to limit wasted material when cutting mineral wool panels with oriented fibres, a method is proposed for cutting the panel (30) making it into strips, characterised in that the panel is cut in a single stroke along a cutting direction (MC) with a plurality of rectilinear blades (26) arranged airborne at a distance equal to the desired width of the strips. Thinner blades can therefore be used.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method used in sawing a log with a circular sawmill or band saw, in said method a log (8) is placed on a moving traveling table (4), and in which the traveling table and the log are moved with one to-and-fro movement and a saw-cut (27) is sawed into the log with a circular saw or band saw blade (1), and with two or more secondary circular saws (9, 10), placed perpendicularly in relation to the primary blade (1), two or more horizontal saw-cuts (23, 24, 25, 26) are simultaneously sawed, whereby one or more units of prepared sawed lumber (22) are obtained with one to-and-fro movement. Additionally, the invention relates to a circular sawmill or band saw accessory, as presented in the first of the accessory claims. In a method applied according to the invention, the traveling table (4) for the log (8) is mounted with a lifting device (11), on top of which the top end of the log is placed and by which the elevation of the top end of the log is adjusted in relation to the blades. In an accessory formed in accordance with the invention, the traveling table (4) for the log (8) comprises a lifting device (11) for adjusting the elevation of the top end of the log.
Abstract:
A saw mill apparatus (10) supports and advances a log (12) towards the saw mill's saw assembly (14, 16), and cuts log (12) longitudinally by a pair of parallel band saws (14, 16). Blade guides (26, 28) are mounted to each band saw blades (22, 24) and are movable along the blades (22, 24) toward and away from the log (12) being cut by means of hydraulic positioners (38, 40). The diameter of the log (12) is sensed by a scanning device (20) at plural longitudinal positions of log (12). A control system (not shown) controls the height of the blade guides (26, 28) in response to each of the sensed diameters so that the guides (26, 28) properly track the diameter of log (12) during cutting.
