Abstract:
A finish for a plastic container and a preform adapted to be molded into the plastic container. The finish and the preform include an upper portion having a mouth defining an opening into the container. At least one groove is defined around a radial sidewall of the upper portion. The groove slopes gradually downward along the radial sidewall to a terminal end.
Abstract:
A container (30) for holding consumable liquids for commercial food service (e.g., bar service) has a body that defines an inner cavity and has a neck (22) extending to an opening. The neck (22) of the container (30) defines a first thread (32) adapted to receive a cap (34) to seal the cavity. The container (30) also defines a second thread (38), of a diameter larger than the first thread (32), adapted to mate directly with a thread of a standard threaded pour spout (24) to retain the pour spout on the container for serving liquid from the container cavity. The container is sized to fit within standard bar service speed racks and can be heat-sealed to contain perishable liquids, such as fruit juice or drink mixes.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The plastic preform (1) comprises a heat sealable neck finish (2) having at least a first upper heat sealable portion (20) which is terminated by a top opened end (200), a second intermediate threaded portion (21) for screwing a closure cap, and a third lower portion (22) that comprises a neck support ring (221a) of width (L1). The first upper portion (20) comprises an annular gripping recess (201) of predetermined height (H2) and depth (d). The inner face of the third lower portion (22) forms an inward transition step (221 b), and the outer diameter (D3) of the preform measured just below the neck support ring (221a) is less than the outer diameter (D2) of the neck finish measured just above the said inward transition step (221b).
