Abstract:
A tapered interlayer comprising at least one polymer layer and a having tapered zone with an overall wedge angle of not more than 0.85 mrad is provided. The refractive index of the polymer layer is 1.480 or higher. Multiple layer panels formed from such interlayers may exhibit desirable optical properties, including, for example, less image "ghosting," when used as part of a heads-up-display (HUD) display panel for use in automotive and aircraft applications.
Abstract:
An interlayer comprised of a high flow, low molecular weight thermoplastic resin, and at least one plasticizer is disclosed. The use of a high flow, low molecular weight thermoplastic resin, and a plasticizer creates synergy allowing the flow of the interlayer to be increased without sacrificing other characteristics typically associated with an increased flow (e.g., increased blocking, decreased mechanical strength, and decreased manufacturing capability). In this regard, the high flow, low molecular weight thermoplastic resin provides a flow improvement, resulting in a high flow interlayer. As a result, a thinner interlayer can be utilized in forming multiple layer panels because the resulting thinner interlayer has improved flow properties.
Abstract:
An interlayer comprised of a thermoplastic resin, at least one high refractive index plasticizer and, optionally, a conventional plasticizer. The use of a thermoplastic resin, a high refractive index plasticizer, and, optionally, a conventional plasticizer reduces or minimizes the optical defects caused by different refractive indices without sacrificing other characteristics of the interlayer.
Abstract:
An interlayer comprised of a blend of thermoplastic resins and at least one high refractive index plasticizer having improved acoustic and optical quality is disclosed. The use of a blend thermoplastic resins and a high refractive index plasticizer improves transparency and acoustic properties without sacrificing other characteristics of theinterlayer.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to plasticized films that contain polyvinyl acetal having a plasticizer content of not more than 26% by weight and a mixture of at least one high-viscosity polyvinyl acetal having a viscosity of 40 - 300 mPa and at least one low-viscosity polyvinyl acetal having a viscosity of 5 - 500 mPa. Films of this composition are suitable for use in the production of photovoltaic modules.
