    摘要: Natural Marble and Natural Granite, being used in civil construction, are finite resources not perpetually available. There have been attempts to match the attributes of natural marble and granite by artificial processes and at less expense. Though these products closely resemble natural stones, the processes used in manufacturing these articles are slow, and they are difficult to recycle due to the fact that they are made using a combination of different materials. The present invention provides a method for preparing composite board in polypropylene and digitally printing & coating it externally to provide aesthetics and required hardness. The method comprises corona treatment; applying and drying a primer; applying and curing base coat on the dried surface; sanding of the board using fine emery boards; digitally printing and curing the sanded board; application and curing of a primer; and coating and curing to gain surface hardness, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, fire resistance and gloss.

The method may include selecting a substrate having a surface (12), abrading a portion of the surface (16), and printing an image comprising a graphic, text, or some combination thereof on the abraded surface (20). The substrate (22) may be masked to protect selected areas from abrasion 14. Additionally, if necessary, the substrate (22) may be cleaned after the abrasion (18) to improve the adherence of the image (46) to the abraded surface (26).

    摘要: Various methods and fluid delivery systems are described for printing digitally imaged signs. One method of applying pigmented material to a print medium involves using a fluid delivery system to coat at least a portion of an exterior surface of a cable with a pigmented material and then placing the coated portion of the cable in close proximity to the print medium. An air stream is then directed at the portion of the cable coated with the pigmented material such that a the pigmented material is removed from the exterior surface of the cable and is deposited onto the print medium.
