Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a notebook (10) comprising a set of sheets (20) mutually overlapping and a cover (30) comprising a front portion (31) and a back portion (32) suitable to enclose said sheets (20) therebetween, wherein the sheets (20) are bound to said front and back portions (31, 32) along a binding edge (33) of said cover (30). The cover (30) further comprises a plurality of flaps (41, 42, 43) that are arranged along the peripheral edges of at least one between the front portion (31) and the back portion (32) and extend outwardly therefrom, said flaps (41, 42, 43) being foldable from a first position in which each of them is coplanar to the front and/or back portions (31, 32) of the cover (30) and a second position in which each of them is folded by 180° relative thereto. The flaps (41, 42, 43) are arranged such that in a closed configuration of the notebook (10) they are contiguous along the free edges of the periphery of the cover (30). By folding the flaps about the edges in the closed configuration of the notebook it is possible to obtain an envelope-shaped casing that encloses the set of sheets and is suitable for posting.
Abstract:
A book product having a sheet defining spaced-apart front and back covers and a spine portion therebetween having a laydown area that receives a signal responsive tag, and a book block of pages with an adhesive layer on a spine side that cooperatively attaches the pages together and attaches the book block to the spine portion concealing the signal responsive tag within a first thickness of the adhesive in the laydown area and the adhesive having a second thickness of adhesive in the non-laydown area of the spine, with the concealed signal responsive tag being responsive to a signal for inventory or security purposes.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A tab is provided for notebooks and binders. The tab is placed within the space otherwise occupied by a binding, and thus is protected from wear and does not appreciably increase the overall size of the notebook or binder. The tab may be located at a corner of the binding or at an intermediate point along the binding.
Abstract:
Holders are disclosed, for retaining one or more substantially planar items in any of a plurality of different user-defined arrangements. The holder comprises left and right wings (12, 14) hinged to each other along a spine (16). At least one of the wings is provided with at least first and second pockets (18, 20), each such pocket being adapted to receive a substantially planar item inserted therein, so as to retain such item in a defined orientation with respect to the holder. The first pocket (18) is accessible by an opening (22) away from the spine (16) and extending within the wing (12) towards the spine (16), and the second pocket (20) is accessible by an opening (24) towards the spine (16) and extending within the wing (14) away from the spine (16). By such means, a substantially planar item may be accommodated in either of said pockets (18, 20), and at least two such items may be accommodated simultaneously.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A bound component has a front cover attached to a spine attached to a rear cover, a binding mechanism, and a binder extension attached to either cover. The binder extension folds inwardly in its closed position and has pockets. Also disclosed is a bound component having a front cover attached to a spine attached to a rear cover, a binding mechanism and one or more pockets attached to either cover. The pocket may have one or more closure flaps and may be expandable. Also disclosed is a folder having one or more bound edges and one or more free edges, one or more folder tabs extending from one or more free edges, and a plurality of pages bound to the folder. The pages may be bound to the folder using adhesive, string, staples or other attachment mechanisms. The folder may fit within a traditional file drawer.
