Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention is an access control and speed limiting system for the users of a vehicle. A passcode from a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) is sent to the connected vehicle to unlock. The passcode from the PDA is decoded by a vehicle-mounted electronic control unit, and the passcode undergoes a verification process 6, 7, 8 and 9 for authentication of the user. Each user in a group sharing the same vehicle has a unique and individual passcode. After the authentication of the rider, the electronic control unit assigns the two-wheeler speed limit 10, 11, 12 and13. The design improves rider safety and users feel more secure with a passcode lock and can be applied to any two-wheeled or three-wheeled automobiles. Since the passcode can be entered in the PDA by the user, additional buttons need not be provided on the vehicle.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides methods for using a Bluetooth device for interacting with a key fob and vehicle controller. The Bluetooth device can be used in combination with the key fob to increase the security of access to vehicle functions such as passive start, door and window locking, unlocking, closing, and opening. The Bluetooth device can also be used in conjunction with the key fob to access data from vehicle control system, and to authenticate additional key fobs.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for operating a remote-controlled entry system (201). The remote-controlled entry system contains at least one lock (111) capable of being switched between a locked state and an un-locked state, where each lock is capable of locking a door (112) a stationary entity (110), such as a vehicle. The entry system further contains a wireless electronic device (130) having a wireless transceiver (233), and a stationary detection system (120,220), which contains a fixed transceiver (223), where the fixed transceiver (223) is capable communicating with the wireless transceiver (233). By use of the analysing unit 122, the remote-controlled entry system is capable of switching locking states of a lock (111) by changes of the distance between the stationary detection system (220) and a user carrying a wireless electronic device (130). The wireless electronic device may for instance be a mobile phone.
Abstract:
A device, system, computer program, and method for monitoring mechanical events subjected to a marine vessel (20) over time in order to reduce inspection needs after use The monitoring device (1) receives data from a sensing device (3) indicative of mechanical events and analyzes the data in order to determine and distinguish potentially damaging events from harmful events. Upon registration of potentially damaging event signal is sent to a receiving unit (22) to alert of the potentially damaging event.
Abstract:
A system and method for managing a permit-based parking environment governed by a parking program. The permit-based parking environment includes a number of parking permits each including a unique RFID tag and tag number. One or more RFID readers are used to scan the vehicles parked in the parking environment to determine if a RFID tag is associated with the parked vehicle. The results of the scan along with information related to the parked vehicle are provided to a permit management system to determine if the vehicle is parked within the scope of privileges pre-defined for that vehicle, pursuant to the parking program governing the parking environment. The permit management system stores, manages, and monitors data related to the permits controlled under the parking program.
Abstract:
A System and method for on-board controlling one or more devices installed in a vehicle. The on-board system comprises a microcontroller; a wireless communication module coupled to the microcontroller; one or more sensors installed in the vehicle and coupled to the microcontroller; wherein the microcontroller controls the one or more devices based on signals received from the wireless communication module, the sensors, or both; and wherein the microcontroller initiates a communication to an external communication device via the communication module based on signals received from the sensors.
Abstract:
A method which protects mobile entities typically shipping containers and vehicles. Wireless transceivers, preferably with sensors attached, are installed on the entities and a master transceiver is periodically selected from among the wireless transceivers. The master transceiver communicates with at least some of the wireless transceivers which form a cluster. Positive status information from each of the wireless transceivers of the cluster is continuously transferred to the master transceiver. A communications tamper on one or more of the wireless transceivers is suspected and the master transceivers performs an alert when the positive status information is not received from one or more other transceivers of the cluster. Preferably, the periodic selection as master transceiver is based on either an amount of battery power stored in the master transceiver, and/or a received single strength to an external wireless connection to the master transceiver.
