摘要: The invention provides a rounded life boat which can neither sink nor topple during any type of sea or river emergency. It contains oxygen cylinders, water and food for 'x' persons. It can be operated by paddle. It contains a propulsion system. The walls of the inner and outer ball structures are made of fiber glass or light metal materials. The outer ball structure of the invention protects the persons sitting inside the inner ball structure from any type of sea impacts. The inner and outer ball structures are independent from each other in order to prevent the inner ball structure from any type of sea impact. The inner and outer ball structures are separated from bearings made of steel. This invention is capable of carrying all essential material during the extreme sea emergency.

摘要: Ellipsoidal Submarine (1) and its specific form - a disc (2) or a ball, is a new type of water vessels. Ellipsoid is characterized by an ellipse profile when looked from direction of all three axis. Vessel in disc form is characterized by an ellipse profile in vertical and circle in horizontal cross section, and a ball is characterized by a sphere i.e. a circle looked from all directions. Basic stabilization of ellipsoid 1, disc 2 or ball submarine, at travel or standing still, in water or on it, is accomplished by special stabilizer (11), mega gyroscope inside. Stabilization is supplemented by a group of water jet motors (10) for vertical drive and wing stabilizers (3). The submarine drive is accomplished through groups of: water jet motors for forward travel (4) and (9), water jet motors with double action of jet (10) for vertical travel, water jet motors (6) for maneuver, forward travel and stopping, and such motors (8) for sudden lateral moving of special purpose submarines. For stopping at sea bottom it uses breaking unit. With groups of water jet motors and by its shape a submarine may reach a speed in water up to 250 m/s and on water up to 300 m/s, with full stability at travel.

摘要: A wind energy conversion system optimized for offshore application. Each wind turbine includes a semi-submersible hull with ballast weight that is moveable to increase the system's stability. Each wind turbine has an array of rotors distributed on a tower to distribute weight and loads and to improve power production performance where windshear is high. As much of the equipment associated with each rotor as possible is located at the base of the tower to lower the metacentric height. The equipment that may be emplaced at the bottom of the tower could include a power electronic converter, a DC to AC converter, or the entire generator with a mechanical linkage transmitting power from each rotor to the base of the tower. Rather than transmitting electrical power back to shore, it is contemplated to create energy intensive hydrogen-based products at the base of the wind turbine. Alternatively, there could be a central factory ship that utilizes the power produced by a plurality of wind turbines to create a hydrogen-based fuel. The hydrogen-based fuel is transported to land and sold into existing markets as a value-added "green" product.

摘要: A method of deploying a device on the seabed. The device is towed behind an undersea vehicle with a flexible tether, generating hydrodynamic lift with the device as it is towed behind the vehicle. The vehicle is decelerated the vehicle so that the hydrodynamic lift reduces and the towed device sinks to the seabed. The device can also be retrieved from the seabed by pulling the device off the seabed with the flexible tether and towing the device away from the seabed. The device may be a sensor node for acquiring seismic data from the seabed, with at least one seismic sensor; means for generating hydrodynamic lift as the sensor node moves through the water; one or more coupling devices for coupling the sensor node to the seabed so that the seismic sensor can acquire seismic data from the seabed; and a flexible tether for towing the node through the water. The device is towed by a submersible vehicle with an annular hull; a flexible tether for towing an object behind the vehicle; and a harness coupling the tether to the annular hull. The harness has two or more flexible harness lines which are coupled at one end to the hull and at the other end to the tether. The harness lines are coupled to the hull at different points round the circumference of the duct.

The dressing includes a fluid manifold (14) positioned within a fenestrated drape (16) to form a contoured occlusive wrapping (10) for placement over the wound. A contoured porous pad (26) is placed adjacenl or within the wound, such that the contoured pad (26) is enveloped by the occlusive wrapping (10). Flexible tubing (42) is attached to or through a fluid communication port (18) which forms an opening through the outer layer (16b) of the occlusive wrapping (10) so as to allow for fluid communication of negative pressure to the contoured pad (26) from a source of negative pressure (44) connected to the opposite end of the flexible tubing (42) through fenestrations (19) of the occlusive wrapping (10), such that negative gauge pressure is applied to the wound on the extremity.
