Abstract:
An expandable and reusable plastic bag is utilized. The bag is preferably a T-shirt style bag or a drawstring style bag. In either version, at least one, or a combination of, techniques are used to make the bags. The techniques include use of perforations, heat seals and adhesives (permanent and/or peelable). The bags are used to carry goods, such as groceries from the store to the home. The bags can then be opened and expanded to become trash bags, fitting into a conventionally sized trash container. The bags are thus reusable and are intended to reduce landfill and litter by virtue of their double use.

A container (1) for collecting and storing biodegradable waste, comprising a body (10) for holding a flexible liner (40), a lid assembly (20) releasably mountable on the body (10) and having an aperture (25) for receiving waste material and a lid (21) for closing the aperture (25). The lid assembly (20)having a gripping mechanism (23) for attaching a mouth of the liner (40) around the aperture (25). Wherein the gripping mechanism (23) is wholly on or part of the lid assembly (20), whereby on dismounting of the lid assembly (20) from the body (10), attachment of the liner (40) to the lid assembly (20) is maintainable to permit the liner (40) to be sealed between its ends.

The collapsible and assemblage recycling container comprises a tubular multisided surface (1) and (4), a bottom (2) and (5) and a lid (3) and (6) which are all interconnected in a manner that creates the container, and bear the additional characteristic that when disassembled all components can remain in a flattened configuration, thus minimizing the container's volume during transportation and storage.

The basket has a bottom (1) and an upstanding side wall (2) provided with ventilation openings (3). It is composed of two identical halves (4, 5) which are arranged to be mounted onto one another to form the basket. Each of the basket halves (4, 5) comprises a bottom portion, forming one half of the bottom (1) of the basket, and a side wall portion, forming one half of the side wall (2) of the basket. The bottom (1) of the basket is a closed bottom but a seam (10) is present between the two bottom portions. Liquid is prevented from leaking out of the basket through this seam (10) due to the fact that the bottom portions drain from said seam (10) towards the side wall (2) of the basket.

The second compartment (14) includes a main body (22) having a floor (58), side walls (70, 72, 74, 76), a rim (78) which defines an opening (24) of the main body (22), and rim engaging flange portions (26, 28) for supporting the second compartment (14) against a portion (30, 32) of the rim (18) of the first compartment (12). The rim engaging flange portions (26, 28) so support the second compartment (14) against a portion (30, 32) of the rim 18 of the first compartment (12) that the main body (22) of the second compartment (14) descends into the opening (20) of the main body (16) of the first compartment (12) so as to form two openings (50, 52) to the first compartment (12) on opposed sides of the second compartment (14) for inserting waste paper therethrough.
