Abstract:
The method for tempering the glass (G) in furnace, which includes heating section (F) carrying the glass on rollers (Rf), to heat the glass into tempering temperature, further tempering section with cooling blow jets (J), equipped with rollers (R) to transfer the glass from heating section to tempering section. The flow directed towards the furnace and caused by air exiting from the first row tempering nozzles, is stopped or reduced by air flow arrangements (AEup), (AB), above and below the glass, which eliminate or reduce cooling of glass before tempering.
Abstract:
A roller hearth furnace in an apparatus for the thermal strengthening of glass sheets comprises a ceramic roller bed having a deviation from a plane of not more than 500, 400, 300, 200, 100, or even 75 or 50 or 30 micrometers over an area of not less than 1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 2, 3, 5 or 10 square meters. Desirably, roller diameters is not more than 75, 50, or even not more than 25 mm. Roller length is desirably not less than 1, 1.2, 1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 2, or even 2.5 meters.
Abstract:
A hot glass sheet processing system includes a conveyor roller support structure (34) located within a heated location (32) and has an elongated cooling unit (36) having a housing (38) defining a cooling chamber (40) that receives and has bearings (42) that rotatably support an aligned set of roller ends (30). The cooling unit includes a cooling circuit that supplies cooling fluid to the cooling chamber (40) to provide cooling of the aligned set of roller ends (30) and the bearings (42).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arching-ready support assembly (5) in a bending and/or tempering compartment for glass panels. The support assembly comprises a number of link bodies (9), which are connected to each other with articulated axles (9a). Between the link bodies (9) are control link mechanisms (1, 2, 3), which control arching of the support assembly (5) to a constant-radius curve. A first section of the support assembly (5) is adapted to be arched by a first servomotor (SM1) and a second section by a second servomotor (SM2).

The method for tempering a glass (G) in furnace, which includes heating section carrying the glass on rollers to heat the glass into tempering temperature, further tempering section with cooling blow jets (J), equipped with rollers (R) to transfer the glass from heating section to tempering section. The air blasting (J) blown towards the glass is produced from nozzle blocks (NB) located under rollers (R), from where the are lead upwards alongside of the rollers towards the glass (G) and directed onto the glass from suitable distance through special nozzles, (N).
Abstract:
A method for forcedly cooling sheet glass includes the step of causing water-cotaining members (11, 31) to contact with both surfaces of sheet glass (27) to cool the sheet glass. Sheet glass heated to a predetermined temperrature is brought into contact with water-containing members to thereby quench the surface of the sheet glass. Water in the water-containing members partly evaporates owing to the heat of the sheet glass, and the sheet glass is thereby effectively cooled by the heat of evaporation of water.
