摘要:
Mineral melt fiberization rotating wheel coating and process for its application solves above technical problem of increased wear and tear by applying protective coating to lateral surface of mineral melt fiberization rotating wheel, and further, by applying said coating using thermal spray of metal and ceramic materials. During rapid rotation of the rotating wheel of the centrifuge within the mineral melt fiberization apparatus the melt, preferably with high aluminosilicate contents, flows onto the outer-lateral surface of the rotating wheel, and this melt disengages from said outerlateral surface under influence of centrifugal forces, and transforms into a fiber through well known process in state of the art. If higher efficiency is desired, cascade is used, this cascade increases wear and tear on the outer-lateral surface of the rotating wheel.

The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for the manufacture of mineral fibres. The system comprises a fiberising apparatus, which has at least two, typically three or more, fiberising rotors which rotate around a horizontal or nearly horizontal axis. Mineral melt is fed to the mantle surface of the first rotor, which mineral melt is thrown from the mantle surface of the first rotor to the mantle surface of the second rotor, and thence onwards to the mantle surface of a possible subsequent rotor, whereby mineral fibres are formed on the active mantle surfaces of the rotors. The blow-off means are arranged to surround the active mantle surfaces of the rotors of the fiberising apparatus and they are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the active mantle surfaces for blowing the fibres from the mantle surfaces towards a collecting member, which is arranged at a distance from the fiberising apparatus. Ready-made fibres are added with the addition means for ready-made fibres to the mass of the fresh fibres formed on the mantle surfaces, and binder is added with binder means to the mixture of fresh fibres formed on the mantle surfaces and ready-made fibres. The binder means are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the blow-off means and the addition means for the ready-made fibres are arranged on the side of the binder means, which is away from the blow-off means.

Apparatus and process for centrifugal fiberisation of a mineral m elt (40) comprises at least one fiberising rotor (5, 6, 7), substantially annular air supply means (8, 9, 10) for directing an air blast comprising a wall jet over the fiberising surface (30) of the rotor (5, 6, 7). At least one binder supply duct (35) leads to an outlet (37) which is positioned to eject binder into the air blast. The binder is atomised by the air blast.

The invention provides an apparatus for the formation of man-made vitreous fibres which comprises a housing, a non-rotatable sleeve (3) mounted in the housing, a rotor (1) by which mineral melt can be thrown radially as fibres, a drive shaft (2) within the sleeve and coaxial with the rotor and sleeve, an associated motor (4) for driving the drive shaft, at least one set (5, 6) of roller bearings between the non-rotatable sleeve on the one hand and the drive shaft or rotor or both on the other hand and in the apparatus at least one set of roller bearings is made of a ceramic material. Such materials are advantageous in that they can withstand especially high temperatures and are capable of being lubricated with water.

Collecting chamber comprising at least one adjustable wall and process for collecting of mineral wool solves technical problem of reducing shot in fiber production and/or reducing clumping of fiber by manipulating cross section and shape of entry zone (comprised of shot separation section (I) and/or adjustable section (II)). Such manipulation may serve two purposes: to reduce vortices and/or recirculation cells within collecting chamber, and to separate shot from fiber. There are many ways to achieve such manipulation. There can be apertures, moving walls, objects, membranes and other means for achieving said goal. Above referenced technical problem is also solved by a process comprised of following steps: - pouring mineral melt onto at least one spinner to discharge said mineral melt in form of droplets - blowing said droplets to elongate into fiber separating said fiber from shot formed by premature freezing of said drops by means of an adjustable wall (15, 12) in accordance with description above.
