Provided are amphiphobic block copolymers, methods for preparing amphiphobic block copolymers, and applications thereof. Amphiphobic block copolymers can be used to prepare amphiphobic coatings on material surfaces, such as glass, printing paper or fabric. Amphiphobic block copolymers can also be used to coat particles, e.g., silica nanoparticles, which are then used to coat material surfaces. Such coated particles and uses thereof are also provided herein.

This invention relates to rapid drying lacquers that are particularly useful for automotive OEM refinish applications. The lacquer includes a novel acrylic triblock copolymer as a replacement material for all or part of the cellulose acetate butyrate binder component. This invention is also directed to a process for producing coatings from the rapid drying lacquers. These lacquers are especially useful in providing chip and humidity resistant coatings, especially metallic effect coatings, having excellent adhesion and down flop or metallic effect.

The present invention provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising a near infrared ray absorption agent excellent in heat resistance and hygrothermal resistance while maintaining sufficient NIR shield characteristics and transparency. The problem can be solved with a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, comprising:(I) at least one kind selected from phthalocyanine-based compound and naphthalocyanine-based compound having maximum absorption wavelength in a region from 800 to 920 nm , as near infrared ray absorption agents;(II) at least one kind selected from phthalocyanine-based compound and naphthalocyanine-based compound having maximum absorption wavelength in a region over 920 nm as near infrared ray absorption agents; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive resin having an acid value not higher than 25.
