The composition comprises as essential components (A) an aromatic episulfide compound having two or more reactive groups represented by formula (1) per molecule (1) (wherein X is oxygen or sulfur, provided that sulfur accounts for 50 mol% or more of all X's on the average; and R1 to R4 each independently is hydrogen, halogeno, or C1-4 alkyl), (B) a glycidyl compound comprising either an aromatic glycidyl ether compound or glycidyl ester compound each having two or more glycidyl groups per molecule, (C) an acid anhydride, and (D) a curing catalyst. In the composition, the molar proportions of ss-epithiopropyl groups (a), glycidyl groups (b), and acid anhydride groups (c) are such that [(b)+(a)]/(c)=1.35 to 3.5, (a)/(c)=0.5 to 2.2, and (b)/(c)=0.5 to 1.9.
