A pellet (14, 114) manufactured from a porous combustible material which is infused with a combustible liquid accelerant. The pellet is preferably made from wood shavings, crushed cocoa shells or coffee grounds that are compressed together. The compressed materials are then soaked in a liquid accelerant, such as a petroleum product, or sprayed with a petroleum product. This results in a pellet (14) that has only an outermost layer (16) that includes the accelerant or the entire pellet (114) is saturated with the accelerant. The pellets (14, 114) are then poured over the wood or briquettes (12) that are to be burned and they tend to filter into the spaces between the wood logs or briquettes. The accelerant is volatile and consequently when a flame is applied to one or more pellets they ignite quickly and the flames spread rapidly from one pellet (14, 114) to another and thereby to the wood logs or briquettes (12) that they surround.

This invention discloses a kind of biomass fuel block, it is a fuel block (1) made from the biomass material, at the center of the fuel block (1) there is a central burning channel (11) which is the only air inlet for oxygen supply. The invention also discloses an apparatus (5) and a method for burning the fuel block (1). The invention can entirely solve the problem including difficulties of gathering and transporting the biomass, low burning efficiency, and smoke and dust easy to be generated when burning. It can realize the industrialization, mass production and commercialization of the biomass usage with a cheap and feasible method.

The invention relates to a heating implement which comprises at least two frame parts (1, 2) which have been made from wood and are placed one on top of the other, at least one of which has at least one groove (3), or correponding formation, for leading the combustion air into the structure of the heating implement. A heating implement formed in accordance with the invention has one or more spacing pieces (4) located in the groove (3), which are placed between the frame parts to form an air gap between them.

This invention is characteristic in that the packing (2) is constituted by a rigid, self-supporting shell construction preferably of cardboard. Preferably the block (1) and the packing (2) may be designed so in relation to each other that there will be one or more cavities between these. The packing (2) section may have the shape of a polygon, for instance an isosceles triangle, so that the block (1) will not fill out the packing (2) along the longitudinal edges (3, 4, 5) of the polygon.

The shapes ( 2, 12 ) have gaps/ spaces between them ( 3, 13 ) and are arranged next to one another around an axis ( 0 ) and mutually connected, for example by means of a tray ( 4, 14 ) and which form an outline of a side surface of a spatial solid, preferably resembling a truncated cone. First ends ( A ) of the shapes ( 2, 12 ) form the base of the solid and second ends ( B ) of the shapes ( 2, 12 ) form an opening ( 6, 16 ) of the spatial solid from the top.

A removable inner chimney insert provides structural support for the heat source. An ignition ring establishes a sustained ignition to uniformly ignite the charcoal-based fuel.
