A method and apparatus are described for controlling a coating head, which exerts a nip pressure to a fibrous web to be coated (102) while the fibrous web is supported by a backing roll (101). An output signal of a sensor (105) integrated within the backing roll (101) is read, thus producing a measured indication of the nip pressure. A number of actuator control values are derived at least partly from said measured indication of the nip pressure. Said actuator control values are delivered as commands to a number of respective actuators (803) that contribute to creating the nip pressure, to control an amount of a coating substance on the fibrous web (103) in the coating head.

A process for applying and/or impressing or for removing aqueous liquids or pourable substances on a surface (21) or a web of especially textile material (1) conveyed thereon or from such a material by means of a roller (18) pressed against this surface (21) or web (1), in which said working roller (18) has a surface over its entire working width which takes, stores, transports and, under pressure, gives off a liquid and either the working roller (18) or the surface (21) is coated over its entire working width with an absorbent and/or compressed jacket (8), whereby the transfer process takes place in that this jacket (8) is compressed in the operative state during the rotation of the working roller (18) by pressure applied by the working roller (18) to the surface in a region (zone) of the jacket (8) and then released again and the pressure, the strength of which may in any event be varied, or the compression of the jacket (8) determines the liquid transfer.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un support en matière textile comprenant un revêtement silicone, ledit procédé permettant de réduire le grammage du revêtement silicone, sans pour autant diminuer les propriétés fonctionnelles du support obtenu. L'invention concerne également ledit support en matière textile. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: 1) la préparation d'une composition silicone (5), 2) l'application sur une ou deux faces d'un support en matière textile (4) de la composition silicone préparée à l'étape 1); et 3) le séchage et/ou la réticulation du dépôt formé à l'étape 2), de préférence par chauffage à une température pouvant atteindre 210°C; caractérisé en ce que l'application, selon l'étape 2), de la composition silicone sur le support en matière textile est réalisée par enduction par transfert au moyen d'une machine d'enduction comprenant une tête d'enduction présentant au moins trois éléments, c'est-à-dire un cylindre ρresseur (1), un cylindre enducteur (2), et un cylindre doseur (3), les éventuels autres éléments étant des éléments doseurs, seuls les cylindres enducteur et presseur étant en contact avec le support en matière textile.
Abstract:
The applicator cylinder (2) can be driven in both rotation directions. In order to coat the material web (1) using a counter-rotating system a spreader cylinder is applied to the applicator cylinder (6). In this way it is possible to draw off the liquid film (1) from the same reservoir zone (5) as with a concomitantly-rotating system. This saves displacing the metering cylinder (4) which remains in situ during both counter and concomitant rotation.
