摘要: The subject invention comprises a flexible multilayer fire-rated material that has at least one layer of an intumescent material. Because it is flexible, the fire- rated material is usable in situations where it is desirable for the fire-rated material to be rolled up or folded into a non-flat storage application. This allows the subject fire- rated material to be used in fire-rated and smoke-resistant barriers that are recessed in walls or ceilings until use. One end use embodiment includes without limitation, recessed or rolled up fabrics used in elevator lobby ceilings to seal off elevators or their lobbies from smoke or fire.

摘要: Non-woven layer having a first and second, generally opposed major surfaces, a length with first and second, generally opposed edges, wherein the non-woven layer comprising inorganic fibers and having a binder content not greater than 7 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the non-woven layer, wherein there is at least one line of stitching. The non-woven layer is useful, for example, for mounting mats for pollution control devices.

摘要: The invention relates to the reinforcement of sandwich structures by means of a reinforcement device. The cover layers can be made of fiber-plastic composites and the sandwich material of polymer high-resistance foam. The introduction of a through-hole in the sandwich material is carried out at a different time than the introduction of the reinforcement structure. After introducing the though-hole by means of a hook, gripper or needle, the reinforcement structure is fetched and introduced into the sandwich structure by an upward movement. Then the needle, the gripper or the hook is guided to the next infeed hole in the stitching direction, wherein the upper and lower reinforcement structures get intertwined.

摘要: A stitchbonded fabric has a regionally segmented discontinuous base layer of webs of substrate material extending in the machine direction which webs are laterally separated by a region devoid of substrate material. The lateral separation in the stitchbonded fabric is formed prior to stitching by a method that includes slitting the substrate and folding the material adjacent the slits outwardly in contact with substrate material outboard of the slit, or by a method that includes slitting the substrate while applying tension.
