La présente invention concerne un module de pliage transversal d'une machine de pliage (1) d'articles textiles (3) comportant : - un moyen de convoyage (9) d'articles textiles (3) à plier, - une butée (11) solidaire du bâti de la machine de pliage (1) et disposée au-dessus du moyen de convoyage (9), et - une pince à doigts (13) disposée transversalement au-dessus du moyen de convoyage (9) pour relever un bord amont d'un article textile (3) à plier engagé sur le moyen de convoyage (9) et pincer pendant une durée prédéfinie ce bord amont contre la butée (11) pendant l'avancement de l'article textile (3) sur le moyen de convoyage (9), de façon à réaliser un pli transversal. Ledit module comporte au niveau du moyen de convoyage (9) au moins un moyen d'aspiration (17) de l'article textile (3). L'invention concerne aussi une machine comprenant un tel module de pliage transversal ainsi qu'un procédé de pliage avec pochette.

The invention relates to a device for folding articles of foldable material (25), such as towels or pillowcases, wherein the articles comprise two article parts which are folded over each other, wherein the device comprises a frame, a transport element (7) which is placed in the frame and the width of which is at least as great as that of the first article part, and a first folding element (11) extending from the first side of the transport element to below or above the transport element for the purpose of forcing the second article part to a position respectively below or above the transport element, wherein the device comprises a first engaging element (13) which is placed on the first side of the transport element partially below or above the transport element and which is adapted to engage the first article part situated respectively below or above the transport element and to exert a pulling force on the first article part in the direction of movement of the transport element.

A folder (10) for towels (1) and similarly-sized laundry pieces is provided which is adapted to form a variety of folds in a rapid manner whereby high production is assured. The provided folder (10) employs an air pervious surface (40) assuring a controlled, rolling folding of the article side panels (R, L) over an article central panel (C) without any air entrapment, thereby assuring precise folds, and attractive folded articles.

The present invention relates to a method and a machine for folding a textile article, including a longitudinal folding module (M3), said machine comprising a first transverse folding module (M1) and second transverse folding module (M) arranged one behind the other upstream from the longitudinal folding module (M3) relative to the direction of travel (SA) of a textile article on the conveying means (9) of said machine, so as to separately and sequentially carry out two transverse folds of the textile article so as to reduce the length of the textile article before the longitudinal folding operation.

The present invention relates to a machine (1) for folding textile articles (3), comprising a transverse folding module (M1), said transverse folding module (M1) including: a means (9) for conveying textile articles (3) to be folded; an abutment (11) rigidly connected to the frame of the folding machine (1) and arranged above the conveying means (9); and a finger clamp (13) arranged transversally above the conveying means (9) for lifting an upstream edge of a textile article (3) to be folded provided on the conveying means (9) and for clamping said upstream edge against the abutment (11) for a predefined duration as the textile article (3) travels on the conveying means (9), so as to achieve a transverse fold. Said module includes, at the conveying means (9), at least one means (17) for suctioning the textile article (3).

The invention is a textile article folding apparatus comprised of three main units: a gate unit adapted to receive the article to be folded from the user and to perform vertical folds, a tilt unit adapted to take the article from the gate unit after the vertical folding has been completed and to make two horizontal folds, and a collector unit adapted to receive the completely folded article from the tilt unit. The apparatus comprises a control system adapted to activate electric motors and/or pneumatic pistons in a predetermined sequence to control the operation of the various parts of the apparatus that are involved in the process of folding the article. The entire folding process, with the exception of attaching the article to the gate unit, can be carried out automatically by means of the control system.
