Abstract:
A system and method for the application of friction-modifying coatings to roadways, walkways, pathways and other areas subject to vehicular, human or animal traffic, the system and method comprising the controlled, simultaneous application of binder and filler to a surface of a substrate, using a mobile device which passes over the substrate as the binder and filler are being applied. Binder is applied from openings in a lower portion of a tube into which binder is fed, such openings including a single slot, multiple slots, circular opening, arranged in single or multiple rows with overlap regions. Both the binder and the filler are precisely and accurately metered onto the substrate, ensuring uniform coating thickness and performance. The method of this invention also enables the use of different binding systems and precise control over mixing ratios for multi-component binders.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for sensing and managing pothole locations and pothole characteristics. An additional aspect of the present invention is to provide a system that may acquire, fuse, and analyze pothole sensing data from several sources to identify potholes in need of maintenance or repair. Further, the system may be configured to create and distribute recurring reports of pothole repair data for use by roadway officials.

L'invention concerne un dispositif conçu pour l'incorporation et la répartition, par brassage, du sable destiné à pondérer un gazon synthétique ainsi que des granulats destinés à améliorer sa souplesse. Le dispositif selon l'invention se caractérise en ce qu'il comporte, supportées par un même châssis (1) et agissant successivement et en coopération, au moins une rangée de griffes (2), à pression préréglable, destinées à soulever les brins du gazon et au moins une rangée de brosses (5,6) destinées à brasser le sable et les granulats. Il se caractérise également en ce que ledit châssis comporte, pour effectuer le travail de brassage sur les bords des terrains, deux extensions latérales (7) comprenant, chacune, au moins une rangée de griffes (8), à pression préréglable, disposées en oblique, destinées à soulever les brins du gazon et au moins une brosse (11) disposée également en oblique.

A non-bituminous substance capable of being cold-laid with a spatula is described, in particular for making roadbeds or road repairs, composed of a first liquid polymeric component, a second liquid polymeric component and solid granular aggregates. Processes for laying such substance are also described.

A road plate securing assembly for a roadway surface includes an assembly frame comprising a plurality of assembly frame members adapted for attachment to the roadway surface and each comprising a first surface, a second surface disposed at an acute angle with respect to the first surface, a uni-planar inner surface extending from the first surface to the second surface and a plate opening defined by the assembly frame members. A road plate can be fitted in the plate opening to cover a repair or construction area on the roadway. A road plate securing method is also disclosed.

A patcher system for patching a paved surface includes a remotely controllable arm attachable to a vehicle and a patching material dispensing subsystem disposed on the remotely controllable arm. The patcher system may be part of a mobile patcher system which additionally includes a vehicle, a patching material distribution subsystem disposed on the vehicle, and a control subsystem. A software product may include instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform steps for controlling the patcher system.

A thermal radiation asphalt pavement soften rebuilding system comprises a thermal radiation stripping device, a reheating and delivering device, and a longitudinal-laterally heat conveying, screeding and pressing device. The thermal radiation stripping device comprises a heating apparatus with a first set of thermal radiation heaters arranged in a plurality of grids respectively, and a stripping shovel connected with the heating apparatus. The reheating delivering device, located behind the stripping shovel, comprises a feed hopper and a first discharge port on the front and rear end respectively, a case with a second set of thermal radiation heaters inside, and a conveyor belt located below the second set of heaters. The longitudinal-laterally heat conveying, screeding and pressing device comprises a feed port connected with the first discharge port at the front end thereof, an outer drum with a third set of thermal radiation heaters arranged therein, a spiral stem with one end engaged with a motor at one end of the outer drum, and with the other end being provided with a second discharge port, wherein, an arched rail is arranged at the middle and lower part of the outer drum, and a scraper and a pressing plate are connected with the rear part of the outer drum by a hydraulic supporting device.

A manhole cover cap (12), for an access cover (14) of an opening (18) into an underground utility structure, can be used to raise the level of an access, or manhole, cover, and to prevent water inflow. The cover cap includes upper and lower opposed surfaces and an outer edge having dimensions substantially conforming to dimensions of the opening, adapted for attachment to the access cover, and comprises a rubber material.

A template (F) is used when making a hole (E) in a highway to make it easier to restore the highway to its original level. The template (F) is used to provide a straight cut edge following which an edge protector (F) is put in place. A template (F) may itself function as the edge protector (F).
