Es wird ein Rückhaltesystem und eine Übergangskonstruktion (1) zwischen zwei unterschiedliche seitliche Steifigkeiten aufweisenden Fahrzeugrückhaltesystemen (2, 3), von denen das eine mindestens eine Schutzplanke (4) und das andere mindestens eine Schutzwand (7) aufweist, mit einer wenigstens ein Wandteil (11) aufweisenden Leitwand (8), die an der Schutzwand (7) des einen Fahrzeugrückhaltesystems (3) über ein Schwenklager (9) beweglich verbunden sowie mit der Schutzplanke (4) des anderen Fahrzeugrückhaltesystems (2) fest verbunden ist, und mit einem Versteifungsteil (14) gezeigt, das sowohl wenigstens abschnittsweise entlang der Schutzplanke (4), als auch wenigstens abschnittsweise zwischen dem Wandteil (11) und der Schutzplanke (4) verläuft und das mit der Leitwand (8) fest verbunden ist. Um größtmöglicher Sicherheit zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Schutzplanke (4) und Versteifungsteil (14) am vorderen Wandteil (11) der Leitwand (8) befestigt, insbesondere endbefestigt, sind.

The present invention provides a roadway barrier or guard rail system which has a post (12) which passes through the carriage (20) with the carriage (20) being free to move up along the post (12). The carriage (20) is prevented from moving down the post (12) by means of a stop or restraint (12.60,12.50,12.40,12.30) which is separate from and underneath the carriage (20) and which the carriage (20) abuts, with the stop or restraint (12.60,12.50,12.40,12.30) being located on the post (12). The carriage (20) is not otherwise restrained from moving up the post except by the curved channels through the carriage (20) which engage the extremities of the post, and the friction this may produce. Further systems are provided with the same features but additionally additional frictional or other forces such as shearing forces, produced by means of formations or fixtures to the post or the carriage which must be overcome after the carriage starts moving relative to the post, such as restraints or stops on the post above the carriage. In other embodiments additional frictional or shear forces must be overcome before movement between the carriage (20) and the post (12) will occur. The movement of the carriage (2) on the post (12) is guided by formations on the carriage (20) cooperating with the mating formations on the post (12).

본 발명에 따른 충격흡수구조가 강화된 가드레일 조립체는: 상호 일정간격으로 이격 배치되게 지하에 매설되거나 지면에 고정된 복수의 지주부재; 상기 복수의 지주부재의 전면에서 상기 복수의 지주부재를 가로지르도록 길게 구비되며, 상기 지주부재의 상하로 이격 설치되게 복수 개로 구비된 가드레일; 및, 상기 지주부재의 외주면 형상에 대응되게 마련되어 상기 지주부재와 상기 가드레일 사이에 개재된 충격흡수부재;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이에 의하여, 차량의 충돌시 가해지는 충격이 효과적으로 흡수되도록 함과 동시에 가드레일의 변형이나 파손이 최소화되도록 할 수 있는 충격흡수구조가 강화된 가드레일 조립체를 제공할 수 있다.

A guardrail system includes a plurality of posts spaced apart along a longitudinal direction and a plurality of rail sections extending between and coupled to the spaced apart posts. Each of the rail sections includes an uppermost surface. A cable extends along the longitudinal direction and is coupled to the rail sections and/or posts. The cable is vertically spaced above the uppermost surface of the rail sections. A guardrail retrofit kit includes a front anchor bracket, a rear anchor bracket, an intermediate bracket and a cable having end portions adapted to be coupled to the front and rear anchor brackets. The intermediate bracket is configured to releasably capture the cable. Methods of retrofitting a guardrail system and arresting a vehicle impacting a guardrail system are also provided.

A block (100) for a lane separator having a first end with recess (132) and protrusions (131, 133) and a second end (140) with a complementary protrusion (142) and recesses (141, 143) such that the projections and recesses ( 131-133; 141-143) fit into the recesses and protrusions of the neighboring blocks of the same shape as the block (100), wherein the recesses and protrusions are provided with bores (160) adapted to receive a cylindrical locking pin (150). The base portion (110) having vertical side walls (111, 112) that prevents a vehicle from climbing onto the block. The locking pin (150) is formed of a hollow, deformable tube, so that kinetic energy of a collision to a greater extent than before deforms the block, and to a lesser degree the vehicle. The block is hollow and can be deployed manually without tools, and then filled with water, sand or similar to the desired weight. The lane separator can also be used as a foundation for signs, and more.

A road barrier comprising a support (101) to which a transverse beam (102) is connected via a spacer (110) such that upon impact the transverse beam (102) moves towards the support (101). The spacer (110) is movable upon impact and coupled, via coupling means (130, 150, 160, 170), with a rotatable energy absorber (140) mounted below the transverse beam (102) and comprising at least one rotor (142, 143) for absorbing in rotational movement at least part of the kinetic energy imparted to the transverse beam (102).

The following invention relates to an impact attenuator for roadside application, suited for reducing the severity of a collision by absorbing at least part of the kinetic energy of an object, and specifically a vehicle, colliding with the impact attenuator. Said impact attenuator comprises: an energy absorption body comprising a first part and a second part extending substantially lengthwise behind each other, wherein the first and second part are mutually moveable; and a first and a second cutting edge, wherein, upon impact, the first cutting edge is arranged for splitting the first part of the energy absorption body and the second cutting edge is arranged for consecutively splitting the second part of the energy absorption body. The invention furthermore relates to a vehicle comprising such an impact attenuator, a trailer comprising such an impact attenuator and a guardrail comprising such an impact attenuator.
