Abstract:
The present invention relates to an air admittance valve (AAV) that operates automatically at low pressures to selectively open and close an air passageway between an inlet and an outlet. The AAV comprises a valve body having a centrally disposed, intemal valve chamber in communication with the ambient environment, and having a valve seat. The AAV includes a sealing member having a flexible diaphragm that is fastened to a support ring, the ring defining one or more lugs on an outer periphery thereof. The AAV further includes a cap member within which the sealing member may be disposed, such that the one or more lugs may interact with an interior surface of the cap. The sealing member may selectively seal or unseal from the valve seat in response to pressure differentials between the inlet and the outlet.
Abstract:
Rinse valve bracket and restraint system (16) for a toilet pedestal frame having an outer surface and a bowl-facing surface, the system comprising: a bracket (18) comprising a retainer connection feature (24); whereby when installed the toilet pedestal frame comprises a quarter turn securing location supporting a quarter turn retainer extending through the frame and comprising a cam handle, a cam face, and an extending male portion, wherein the bracket is positioned along the outer surface of the toilet frame with the retainer connection feature aligned with the quarter turn securing location, wherein the quarter turn retainer is inserted into the retainer connection feature of the bracket, turned, and clamped, securing the bracket to the toilet pedestal frame.
Abstract:
A controller for a vacuum sewage system includes a housing having multiple chambers. Certain chambers are maintained under atmospheric pressure or vacuum prior to activation of the controller. Ports, valves, orifices and air flow paths located in the housing control the rate of air flow between groups of the chambers during activation of the controller.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to multi-port orbital valves for use in controlling the direction of fluids and mixed media, and find particular use in connection with toilet systems, such as vacuum toilet systems.
Abstract:
A source separation toilet is proposed which has a toilet bowl with a separation ridge to separate urine from faeces. The ridge divides the bowl into a front portion for receiving urine and having an outlet, and a rear portion to receive faeces and paper. The concave area can be selectively put into communication with a vacuum source for vacuum evacuation. A flushing mechanism is provided for discharging a selected volume of water into the bowl under the control of a control system operated by a user of the toilet.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a grey water flush system for use with vacuum toilets. One embodiment of the system provides a two-stage flush that uses a transient tank (20) in between the toilet bowl (14) and the main aircraft waste tank (18), which reduces the noise level associated with the flush process because a lesser vacuum is demanded for the first stage of the flush. Embodiments of the system further capture grey water from a sink basin (12) in a reservoir (34) and use that water in the toilet flush process. There is further provided a lavatory odor removal system (28) option that is activated during the second stage of the flush.
