Abstract:
A multi-purpose tile is installable on ceilings walls and floors. The tile includes a base layer of foam plastic material bonded to an upper substrate layer of non-foam plastic or metal material. The bonding process includes pressurization of the foam layer to the non-foam constituents of the tile. The pressure is at a selected level that basically does not change the density of the foam base layer before and after pressurization. The thickness ratio of the foam based layer relati ve to other constituent layers of the tile can be approximately 15 to 20 times thicker than the other constituent layers thus ensuring that the tile is a lightweight, low density structure that is easy to handle and install.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a floor panel characterized in that a sheet is laminated to a tile, and the sheet has an L-shaped adhesive applied surface which is exposed at an edge protion of the tile, the tile comprises a G/F layer for size reinforcement and a middle layer formed of a PVC material which is attached to an upper portion of the G/F layer so as to maintain a balance between upper and lower portions, the sheet comprises a PVC sheet and an acrylic adhesive which is applied to one side of the PVC sheet, and the L-shaped adhesive applied surface of the sheet is covered by a protect film. And the tile further comprises a print layer attached to an upper portion of the middle layer; a transparent cover layer attached to an upper portion of the print layer; a high strength UV layer stacked on the transparent cover layer; a base layer attached to a lower portion of the G/F layer; and an release layer attached to a lower portion of the base layer.
Abstract:
A floor panel (10, 10', 10") and a floating floor system (27, 27', 27") incorporating the same, wherein the floor panel (10, 10', 10") has a top layer (11) and a bottom layer (12). A top surface (18) of the bottom layer (12) is adhered to a bottom surface (15) of the top layer (11) such that the bottom layer (12) is offset from the top layer (11) in a direction of length (L1, L2) and width (W1, W2) and a marginal end portion of the top surface (18) of the bottom layer (12) and a marginal end portion of the bottom surface (15) of the top layer (11) is exposed. At least one of the marginal end portions has an adhesive (20), and a ratio of a thickness of the top layer (11) to a thickness of the bottom layer (12) is about 5 or greater.

Abstract:
Abstract:
A floating floor system and a floor panel and method for use with the same that includes an improved mechanical interlock system. The mechanical interlock system allows laterally adjacent floor panels that are mechanically interlocked to slide relative to one another a predetermined distance in a longitudinal direction, while prohibiting relative translation in the vertical and transverse directions. In one embodiment, the predetermined distance eliminates the need for precision cuts during installation, thereby making installation fast and easy. In a further embodiment, the invention optimizes the floor panels (and floating floor system.) to balance ease of installation and horizontal locking strength between laterally adjacent floor panels.
Abstract:
Abstract:
