Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A fitting for use in retaining a plurality of accessory members to a vertical modular structural unit of a telecommunications tower, electricity pylon or like structure. The unit has a plurality of vertical sides wherein each side has at least one side aperture. The fitting has a body; a body plate attached to the body and so-shaped as to be cooperable with a side of the unit and receivable in intimate engagement within the side aperture; attachments by which the fitting is attachable to the structure and the body plate is retained thereto receivable within the side aperture by retaining bolts; the body having at least one accessory, such as a guy rope, insulator, dish and platform-receiving aperture for retaining the accessory to the body. The shape of the apertures in each unit side which is complimentary with the body plate, provides a lighter, stronger and more efficacious modular unit and tower.
Abstract:
A bracket (2) for connecting a cross-arm (38) to a utility pole (14), the bracket comprising a channel shaped body which has two abutment portions (9, 10) which bear against the outer surface of the pole (14), the bracket including openings (22, 24, 25, 26, 27) through which bands (32, 34, 36) pass for encircling the pole and clamping the bracket thereto, the bracket further including a plate (20) to which the cross-arm (38) is bolted.
Abstract:
A system (1) for reinforcing a connection mounting a transmission pole arm (112) to a transmission pole (116) includes at least one substantially L-shaped brace (102) comprising two legs. The at least one brace is configured to reinforce an arm bracket (114) of the transmission pole arm. A leg of the at least one brace comprises a cut-out section (106) substantially corresponding to an exterior shape of the transmission pole arm.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for transmitting and distributing electricity in which a transmission tower is adapted to include a natural power device for converting wind or solar energy into electricity. The natural power device is electrically connected as a source to at least one or more transmission lines connected to the transmission tower, in order to supply the converted electricity to a distribution grid. A wind turbine and/or a solar panel may be implemented as the natural power device.
Abstract:
A kit for mounting one or more appliances on a pole, the kit comprising a central ring for being mounted around a pole and having a through-hole, a fitting surface and a support surface, and a carrier having a base part and at least one support arm extending from said base part for supporting one or more appliances, wherein said base part is adapted to be fitted on said support surface and has a through-hole adapted for being fitted around said fitting surface.
Abstract:
One of the major structural components in a space frame tower is the tower leg. A novel and nonobvious tower leg structure is provided which provides significant advantages and benefits over previously available structures.
