Abstract:
A guardrail block includes an attachable support for signage, such as a reflector. The reflector may be mountable on the support, and the support may be integrated with a base or may be separate and attached to the base. For example, a support may be snap fit into the base and the base can be slip fitted into recessed channels formed in elongated extensions extending from a top surface of the guardrail block. The guardrail block may be made of a synthetic foam material, the support and base may be die injection molded, and the reflector may be reflective tape adhered to a surface of the support, for example.
Abstract:
The structured element for horizontal and/or lateral road signals comprises a support layer (2) having a longitudinal axis (x) which stretches along a lie plane (SG), to which a back-reflecting layer (3) is associated. The back-reflecting layer (3) comprises a plurality of parallel reliefs (4) which project with respect to the lie plane (SG) from a side thereof comprising the back-reflecting layer (3), each relief (4) being orientated in a direction (y) which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis (x).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for optically marking an elongated indication path. This method is comprised of supporting an optic sieve (1) along an exposed indication path, and aligning an end (4) of the optic sieve (1) (or networks of sections of optic sieves) with a light source (2) (or light socket harnessing the collective outputs of a plurality of light sources). The optic sieve (1) in the context of the present invention is characterised by having at least one side emitting optic fiber within a flexible semi opaque holographically grooved sleeve. The present invention also relates to devices having optically marked elongated indication paths according to the method of the present invention.
Abstract:
Retroreflective pavement marking material (10) comprising on the top surface thereof an exposed-lens retroreflective sheet (12) that comprises a monolayer of retroflective elements wherein first portions of the monolayer are arranged in an upwardly contoured profile (18) and second portions of the monolayer are arranged in a lower, substantially planar position (20).
Abstract:
Retroreflective pavement marking material (10) comprising on the top surface thereof an enclosed-lens retroreflective sheet (14) that comprises a monolayer of retroreflective elements wherein first portions of the monolayer are arranged in an upwardly contoured profile (18) and second portions of the monolayer are arranged in a lower, substantially planar position (20).
Abstract:
A safety roadway delineator (10) includes one or more elongate recessed marker surfaces (22) which are coated with a reflective material, preferably a retroreflective material such as reflective glass beads (24). The recessed marker surfaces (22) are vertical or at least inclined to the horizontal to insure water run-off and are formed either directly in cast-in-place concrete roadway members (14) or in pre-cast polymer concrete facing panels (16) which are attached to the cast-in-place concrete roadway members (14). The roadway delineator (10) is substantially continuously protected from normal wear and reliably exhibits reflectivity both under dry and rainy weather conditions.

Abstract:
A roadway, guard rail or safety barrier having a post and beam construction wherein the beam is mounted to the post by means of a carriage, the beam being secured to the carriage by a securement means, the carriage being adapted to travel longitudinally relative to the post in the event of a collision, the post further including at least one carriage support means, and one or more engagement means on an outer face of the post, the engagement means being adapted to be engaged by the securement means to provide resistance to movement of the carriage with respect to the post, wherein the carriage is sized and shaped so as to not engage or to minimise engagement with the engagement means during the movement.
Abstract:
A kit for mounting one or more appliances on a pole, the kit comprising a central ring for being mounted around a pole and having a through-hole, a fitting surface and a support surface, and a carrier having a base part and at least one support arm extending from said base part for supporting one or more appliances, wherein said base part is adapted to be fitted on said support surface and has a through-hole adapted for being fitted around said fitting surface.
