Abstract:
The invention relates to a shutter or bfind arrangement for mounting adjacent a window (16) or door. The arrangement has multiple elongate parallel slats (12) which are juxtaposed to form together a planar window screen and which are inclined, or which are mounted for rotation and able to be inclined, to the plane of the window screen, providing openings (13) between the slats for passage of light A sheet (18) arranged alongside the window screen covers the area of the window screen, so that when the arrangement is mounted for use the sheet is interposed between the window screen and the window or door. The sheet is provided with a peripheral seal, and provides a barrier to passage of air through the shutter or blind arrangement.
Abstract:
A roller shutter designed for louvering purposes, in combination with guide rails is disclosed the roller shutter is adapted to be mounted on sides of an opening and a rotatable shaft adapted to be mounted on top of the opening. The disclosed shutter is comprised of a plurality of solid slats, the slats being movable in an upward and a downward direction in the guide rails by being wound up or down on the rotatable shaft; a plurality of lateral members with passage, each of the lateral members has a narrow stay in one edge and two hooks with canaliculus in the second edge located with interspace between that enables the narrow stay to be insert and being pivotally connected to adjoining member by means of a pin, and wherein the plurality of lateral members are creating a chain that each lateral member can move away in a limited distance by the movement of the pin in the canaliculus; a plurality of slat-units, each of the slat-units is made of a hammer shape connector and a lug that are connected by an axis, wherein each of slat-units is connected to the slat by means of the hammer shaped connector and the lug and axis are inserted through the passage of the lateral member in a way that the lug goes beyond the passage and the axis enables rotation of the slat-unit in relation to the lateral member; a plurality of rotatable rotors rotatably mountable in at least one of the guide rails one above the other, each the rotor having a slot of a size permitting one the lug to slide into the slot, the rotors being aligned with the slots in a straight line, permitting the lugs to pass through all the slots during lowering or raising of the shutter; and means for simultaneous turning of all the rotors in one direction while the shutter is in the completely lowered position, effecting the connectors to disengage and all the slats to simultaneously turn about the same angle of inclination.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an insolation shield (3) which is arranged to be placed in connection with a building (1) to suppress solar radiation incident on the building. The insolation shield (3) comprises at least one shield element (8). At least one shield element (8) of the insolation shield (3) comprises at least one solar energy converter (4) to conduct incident solar energy to a target of consumption and/or storage. The insolation shield also comprises at least one control means (10) which is arranged to control the position of said at least one shield element (8) on the basis of the direction of incident beams on the control element (10).
Abstract:
A thermoplastic article, and the method for making the same. The article is formed of a closed cell foam 12 thermoplastic or substantially solid thermoplastic strengthened with diatomaceous earth 16 having less than about two percent moisture.
Abstract:
A shutter assembly (1) for architectural openings (3), includes a first rectangular panel (5) hinged to a perimeter (9) of the architectural opening (3), and a second panel (7) hinged to the first panel (5). Each of the first and second panels (5, 7) comprises spaced parallel first and second vertical frame columns (17A, 17B, 19), and spaced parallel top and bottom horizontal frame beams (21, 23) connecting upper longitudinal ends and lower longitudinal ends of the first and second vertical columns (17A, 17B, 9) defining a rectangular perimeter frame. First and second rectangular plates (27A, 27B) are arranged within the rectangular frame in relative sliding arrangement. The first and second plates (27A, 27B) each have a pattern of apertures (29, 29A) complementary to one another, to provide an open position, in which the apertures (29, 29A) of each plate (27A, 27B) are in register with one another, and a closed position, in which areas without apertures of one of the first and second plates (27A, 27B) are in register with apertures (29, 29A) in another of the first and second plates (27A, 27B). Indexing means (41, 45, 47) are operatively interposed between the first and second plates (27A, 27B). The indexing means (41, 45, 47) are arranged to provide identical positions of adjustment of the first and second plates (27A, 27B) between the open and closed positions in each of a plurality of shutter panels (5, 7, 5A, 7A).
Abstract:
An easy to handle pivoting wing blind positionable in a desired degree of opening comprises a device for both rotating and retaining a blind's pivoting wing (1) including a latch (5) that is mounted on the internal side (4) of the blind wing (1) and is provided with a fixing bar (6) located along a sliding axis (m) parallel to the pivoting axis (z) and can engage a fixing seat comprising a plurality of engaging openings (9) with vertical axis (f), the sliding axis (m) of the fixing bar (6) being able to become coincident with the vertical axis (f) of each engaging opening (9). The latch (5) is manually tiltable so that the sliding axis (m) of the fixing bar is inclined to the pivoting axis (z) to take preferably a horizontal position for its operation.
Abstract:
A kit for attaching a decorative shutter cover to an associated window shutter is disclosed. The kit comprises a shutter cover which covers a portion or a substantial portion of the window shutter. The kit may further include an attachment member that attaches to the top of the window shutter. The top of the shutter cover and the attachment member can connect to each other. The kit may further comprise a securing member for securing the bottom of the shutter cover to the window shutter. The shutter cover may include a graphic display thereon, such as decorative or artistic representations. Additional interchangeable shutter covers may also be provided with the same or different graphic displays depicted thereon.
Abstract:
A louvered housing for an air conditioning unit includes a base structure with a plurality of openings and elongated bodies with a V-cross-sectional shapes and being connected to the base structure at their ends. The louvers are formed in a two-step process including first a stamping and then a forming process, with neither step resulting in scrap material.
Abstract:
A blade material for magnetic shielding, capable of forming an open shield structure having stable performance, and a louver body for magnetic shielding. Magnetic plates (5) are placed in non-magnetic sheathes (10) to form blade members (1). Each magnetic plate (5) has a rectangular cross-section when cut in the direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the plate, and the dimension along the short sides of the rectangle is defined as the thickness of the plate. Each non-magnetic sheath (10) is sized so that bending rigidity in the longitudinal direction of the sheath prevents deflection of the magnetic plate (5). The blade members (1) are laid over each other in the form of a set of louvers with a predetermined distance (d) between them in the plate thickness direction and are supported by support members (20) in a beam-like form. The blade members (1) are in parallel to each other such that the longitudinal center axes (C) of the magnetic plates (5) of the blade members (1) are in parallel with each other on the same plane of the set of louvers. Thus the louver body for magnetic shielding is formed.
