Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vertical lifeline for working at heights which includes an upper system for anchoring the cable which enables gradual stopping of the user in the event of a fall and prevents injuries thereto, absorbing a part of the impact when the fall-arrester system locks by means of an energy-absorbing system, such that the user does not have to absorb the entirety of said impact, in which the lifeline also includes a secondary anchor point for connecting at least one user during the operations of locking and unlocking the fall-arrester device, as well as a means for detecting the fall.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Disclosed is an escape ladder deployment system wherein the deployment system is in electronic communication with an emergency detection device, central alarm system and/or additional escape ladders. The escape ladder unit includes a deployable ladder housed in a box recessed within a wall just below a window either inside or outside of a building structure. The emergency ladder unit acts in cooperation with the detection device and/or alarm system in the sounding of an alarm in event of an emergency situation.
Abstract:
A retractable stairway assembly (10) for entering and exiting a vehicle with a cab (12) has a stairway (48) with steps (56, 58, 60). The stairway assembly (10) is movable between a retracted position, in which the stairway (48) is beneath the cab (12), and an extended position, in which the stairway (48) is exposed to allow entering and exiting of the vehicle. The stairway assembly (10) also has a panel (52) that substantially hides the stairway (48) when in the retracted position. An actuator (16) moves the stairway assembly (10) between the retracted and extended positions in response to closing and opening the door (20).
Abstract:
Ladders and ladder components are provided including a rung assembly that provides an alert to a user of the ladder that they are standing on a particular rung or step. In one example, the lower most rung or step of a ladder includes a rung assembly having an alert mechanism. The alert mechanism may provide an audible and/or other sensory alert to a user when they step on the rung assembly so that the user recognizes their position relative to the ground or supporting surface. In one embodiment, the rung assembly is configured such that a front edge remains in a constant or fixed position relative to the rails to which it is coupled so that a user can rely on a fixed or constant position of the front edge of the assembly when climbing or descending the ladder.
Abstract:
A system configured for lifting or lowering a tool carriage device via a ladder climbing structure is described. The tool carriage device may be adapted to enclose and transport a payload and include a fall arrest grab with an overspeed brake to stop an uncontrolled descent of the carriage device. The tool carriage device may include obstruction sensors to detect an obstruction along the path of the carriage device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electronic stability- control device of a lift apparatus able to allow a person to raise him/herself in relation to a support surface, such as a ladder or mobile scaffold, he device comprises at least one inclination sensor able to detect the inclination of the apparatus at least in relation to two orthogonal axes (X, Y) defining a horizontal reference plane and to provide in output at least one digital control signal showing the value of such inclination detected, a microprocessor control unit able to receive said control signal from the inclination sensor, compare said control signal with at least one predefined reference value and provide in output a stability indicator signal showing said comparison, and at least one visual and/or audio indicator which can be activated by said stability indicator signal.
Abstract:
A ladder with a tip warning system. The ladder is configured to be carried by at least one human user, and includes a plurality of legs with rungs disposed between the legs, and a tip warning system. The tip warning system includes an audio alarm and a visual alarm, a power source, one or more weight sensors and a controller signally coupled to the weight sensors. Imbalance conditions, such as due to the weight of a climber extending beyond the footprint of the ladder, generate an imbalance signal that activates the tip warning system to provide notorious indicia of such condition to the user. In one form, a counterweight activated by the imbalance signal may be incorporated to correct dangerous operating conditions.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A support for a height access such as a ladder, extension ladder, access tower, scaffold, trestle or step up platform. It has an extendible first section attached to an extendible second section, the first section is perpendicular to the second section. IN use, the first section is laterally extendible from the side of the height access apparatus and the second section is extendible to allow ground engaging means located remote from the first section to contact the ground, The present invention provides a support for a height access apparatus which greatly improves the stability of the height access apparatus thereby greatly improving its safety.
