The rifle further includes a linear hammer slidably disposed along one or more hammer guide members, and a sear assembly within the receiver having a sear member to retain the hammer, and a disconnector in communication with the sear member to release the hammer upon actuation of the trigger assembly.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide modifications to the AR-15/AR- 10/M16 platform operating system such that the platform now is competent to fire belted or non-belted cartridges, including but not limited to:.300 Winchester; belted Winchester Magnum cartridges selected from the group consisting of the 264 Win Mag, 7 mm Win Mag, 300 Win Mag, 338 Win Mag, and the 458 Win Mag; 240 Weatherby; 7mm Remington Mag; 7mm Ultra Mag; 300 Ultra Mag; 338 Ultra Mag; 338 Edge; 338 Lapua; 458 Lott; 375 H & H; and the 300 H & H. The embodiments of the present disclosure allow longer range and greater barrier penetration without substantially altering the characteristic features and component inter-relationships of the AR15/AR 10/M16 platform.
Abstract:
A rifle configured for firing a 7.62 x 39 mm round is provided. The rifle having: an upper receiver (58); a lower receiver (20), the upper receiver (58) being removably secured to the lower receiver (20), wherein the lower receiver (20) is configured to removably receive and secure a magazine (12) therein, the magazine being configured to hold at least 30 rounds of a 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition; and wherein a magazine well (18) of the lower receiver (20) is configured to receive an adapter (40) at a front (42) of the lower receiver (20).
Abstract:
A bolt assembly (10) for a firearm (F) such as an auto-loading or pump action shotgun includes a bolt body (20), bolt carrier (21 ) and a bolt head (22). The bolt head (22) is received within the bolt body (20) and is rotatable within the bolt body (20) to lock the bolt assembly ( 10) into battery prior to firing the weapon, but does not extend from the bolt body (20) during such rotation. The bolt carrier (21 ) translates axially relative to the bolt body (20) so as to cause rotation of the bolt head (22). The extractor (70) for the firearm (F) can be pivotally attached to the bolt body (20), while the ejector (90) further can be integrated into the bolt assembly (10) for engaging and ejecting a shell or cartridge after firing.
Abstract:
A firearm can have a backbone, a barrel, a swinging wedge, and a barrel latch, in accordance with one or more embodiments. The barrel latch can be in mechanical communication with the swinging wedge. The barrel latch can have a first position and a second position and the swinging wedge can be configured to maintain attachment of the barrel to the backbone when the barrel latch is in the first position and is configured to release the barrel from the backbone when the barrel latch is in the second position. Thus, the firearm can provide quick barrel changes. Other features enhance the reliability and utility of the firearm.
Abstract:
Firearm to the barrel (1) of which a blow mechanism (6) with a movable striker (7) is attached, the movement of the striker (7) being initiated by the shooter exhalation.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A firearm (10) having a movable breech locking barrel (18) supported on a receiver (12) by an offset barrel cam lug (24) which cooperates with a wall (14, 14) of the receiver to provide space between the lug and the receiver wall to accommodate portions of a trigger (16) and an associated trigger bar (84) when the barrel moves to an unlocked position. An inertia striker assembly (48) which comprises a part of the firing mechanism includes a striker (60) and a generally U-shaped spacer (62) which straddles a portion of the striker and engages an abutment surface (58) to nullify the biasing force upon the striker by an associated striker spring (64) as the striker moves toward its striking position.
Abstract:
Cam mechanism for cocking the firing pin of a weapon, the mechanism being equipped with a spring (13) situated on the external surface of the firing pin (8), with a revolving cam (2) with a drive gear (3) and with a backstop mechanism (19) the release of which initiates movement of the cocked firing pin (8), further being equipped with a shaft (7) passing through the firing pin (8) and leading through notches in the housing (1) of the weapon. One end of this shaft (7) is located in a notch (9) of the cam (2) leading long a helix, wherein ends of this notch (9) are connected by means of a linear notch (10) parallel to the axis of rotation of the cam (2). The movement of the shaft (7), forced by the rotation of the cam (2), at the same time causes the retraction of the firing pin (8) and straining of the spring (13) until the firing pin (8) is blocked in cocked position. The backstop mechanism (19) of the firing pin is part of a releasing and securing mechanism constituted by two levers (19, 23) coupled by means of a toothed gear.
