    摘要: An optical connector (100) having at least one removable integrated assembly tool (160) for terminating an optical fiber cable is described. The connector (100) comprises a housing (110) configured to mate with a receptacle, a collar body (120) disposed in the housing (110), a backbone (116) that retains the collar body (120) in the housing (110), a removable funnel-shaped fiber guide (170) and a fiber boot (150). The collar body (120) secures a ferrule (132) secured at a first end thereof, and includes mechanical element (140) disposed in an intermediate portion and a buffer clamping portion (126) near a second end of the collar body (120). The backbone (116) has a mounting structure (118) surrounding a central bore at one end. The funnel-shaped fiber guide (170) attaches to the mounting structure (118) to facilitate insertion of an optical fiber into the connector (100), and wherein the fiber boot (150) is attachable to the mounting structure (118) after the fiber guide (170) has been removed.

    摘要: A cap apparatus is mounted to a fiber optic connector having a ferrule supporting optical fiber(s). A sealing apparatus is cooperatively configured with the cap apparatus for protecting an end face of the ferrule. The cap apparatus includes a body having opposite ends between which a cavity extends. The opposite ends of the body respectively define first and second openings to the cavity. A portion of the fiber optic connector extends through the first opening and into the cavity. The cap apparatus includes a cover mounted to the body and at least partially obstructing the second opening, wherein the end face of the ferrule is positioned within the cavity at a location spaced from the cover. The sealing apparatus is positioned between at least a portion of the cover and the end face of the ferrule.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a fiber optic ferrule device, comprising steps of: providing a ferrule assembly; inserting a fiber into a fiber bore of the ferrule assembly until the fiber protrudes a predetermined distance from a front end surface of the ferrule assembly; and filling an adhesive into the ferrule assembly, so that the adhesive flows into the fiber bore and holds the fiber in place in the fiber bore after the adhesive is cured. The fiber is easily and smoothly inserted through the ferrule assembly, and the risk that the fiber is damaged by the adhesive is avoided. Also, the fiber protruding from the front end of the ferrule assembly is not adhered with any adhesive.

    摘要: An adapter (10) for engaging with a fiber optic connector, the adapter comprises a frame (11), inside which is formed with at least one receiving portion for receiving at least one part of the fiber optic connector. Each receiving portion comprises a sleeve retainer (12) and an alignment sleeve (13). The sleeve retainer includes a base (15) mounted to the frame; a plurality of elastic arms (122) extending from the base in an axial direction and arranged in a circumferential direction with two adjacent elastic arms being spaced from each other by a slot (121); and at least one stopper (123) extending inwardly and radially from at least one free end of at least one elastic sleeve.     摘要: An adapter for engaging with a fiber optic connector, the adapter comprises a frame, inside which is formed with at least one receiving portion for receiving at least one part of the fiber optic connector. Each receiving portion comprises a sleeve retainer and an alignment sleeve.     摘要: Dust caps, fiber optic connectors, fiber optic splitter modules and fiber optic connector systems including interlocking aligning features for fiber optic connector parking in fiber distribution hub networks are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a dust cap for mounting upon a ferrule of a fiber optic connector includes a sleeve extending lengthwise between opposed first and second ends. The sleeve defines a lengthwise extending bore that opens through the first end for receiving at least a portion of the ferrule. The dust cap further includes an aligning feature at the second end of the sleeve. The aligning feature includes a neck portion and an interlocking portion such that the interlocking portion has a width that is greater than a width of the neck portion. The aligning feature is configured to slidably engage with a slot of a parking clip.
