The embodiments relate to transcoding, cataloging, and extracting metadata about files stored in a storage device. In one embodiment, a crawler runs on the storage device and maintains a database that is stored in the volume with the data that has been cataloged by the crawler. The crawler may discover files of any type and extract associated metadata about the files. The crawler can extract metadata about client interaction with various files, such as edits, play counts, etc. The crawler may discover files of any type and extract associated metadata about the files automatically during a scan or at the request of a client. In one embodiment, the crawler may be responsive to file system events that indicate changes to the file system, such as additions, deletions, or other types of changes. In addition, the crawler may synchronize the database with the file system so that they indicated the same state for a particular file. Furthermore, the crawler may provide notifications to various entities regarding the state of a file.

A server receives a user request for a media program event recommendation from a client device. The user request comprises user media program recommendation setting. The server generates a search query in accordance with the user request. The server runs the search query against one or more databases to generate a recommendation containing one or more media program events. At least one of the databases consists of scheduled media program events. The server sends automatically, without user interaction, to one or more user-designated calendar programs, a calendar event corresponding to a recommended media program event. The calendar event includes a respective date, time, and duration.

Embodiments of the invention broadly described, introduce systems and methods for enabling the searching of encrypted data. One embodiment of the invention discloses a method for generating a searchable encrypted database. The method comprises receiving a plurality of sensitive data records comprising personal information of different users, identifying one or more searchable fields for the sensitive data records, wherein each searchable field is associated with a subset of the personal information for a user, generating a searchable field index for each of the one or more searchable fields, and encrypting the sensitive data records using a database encryption key.

The presently disclosed subject matter provides techniques for the automation of legal document review and creation of summary documents. The disclosed subject matter can be operated in training mode or classification mode. A preprocessor generates candidate items and associated features from input documents. Candidate items can be presented to a machine learning classifier, which classifies them as relevant or not relevant to a given legal category. A summary document can be provided including the relevant candidates.
