Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system (100) for providing access to a kiosk machine (101) using a mobile device (102,103) through a Wi-Fi network. The system (100) eliminates laborious task of waiting in queues and further enables pre-population of forms with user-specific data by tracking the Wi-Fi media access control (MAC) address of their smartphone, thereby allowing quicker completion of tasks when compared with traditional kiosk machines (101). The system (100) is supported with portable barcode readers and printers that enable barcode scanning through the mobile device (102,103) and printing. The system (100) provides live concierge services provided to help users avoid physical visits to service counters and yet meet their concierge service personnel virtually. This advanced new generation kiosk machine (101) helps physically challenged persons to access the kiosk interface on their mobile using self-assistance options such as voice command, tilt/shake, screen enlargement and special vibration patterns.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting data from a digital wallet on a user device to a designated server for use by a transaction card application process on the designated server. The method includes receiving code data generated by scanning a code image using the digital wallet on the user device, the code image being associated with a transaction card offer. The code image includes encoded data relating to the transaction card, including an identity of the designated server. The method further includes displaying information relating to the transaction card application process on the user device, the displayed information being generated based at least in part on the code data. The method further includes transmitting, to the designated server, user data for use in the transaction card application process at least a portion of the user data being securely stored by the digital wallet.
Abstract:
A sensor system comprises a sensor housing, a sensor contained within said housing, said sensor being configured to detect one or more characteristics of a passive tag or of a physical object representative of a specific product optionally without being itself a product; wherein the sensor system further comprises a user interface, a data store for storing signals detected by said sensor, and a processor for processing said detected signals; the processor being further configured to present via the user interface the option of purchasing a specific product to the user of the sensor, the signals being simultaneously representative of the product and of a point of retail where detection was initiated, wherein said system further comprises a purchasing system for purchasing the specific product; and a communication link between the purchasing system and a brand owner who facilitates the dispatch of the specific product to a destination specified by the user of the sensor.
Abstract:
Abstract:
This disclosure describes techniques for appending representations of handwritten inscriptions into electronic books, such that electronic books may be customized through the use of inscriptions akin to physical books. To append inscriptions into physical books, a user may provide an inscription on a physical medium. An image of the physical medium including the inscription may be obtained, and the image may be embedded into contents of an electronic book, thus creating a copy of the electronic book that includes a custom inscription in addition to the book contents.
Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed in an electronic payment network, for associating a payment card of a cardholder with a personal computing device of the cardholder, then authenticating the payment card in electronic transactions processed in the network. The card and a device activation code are input to the cardholder device by the cardholder, then communicated sent to a remote server for obtaining a card token. The server generates a device token and an authorisation token, stores the generated tokens together with the card token, and sends the card and device tokens to the cardholder device for storage. Whenever a transaction is processed in the network, the payment card is authenticated by inputting authenticating data to the cardholder device for generating an authorisation token, which is sent to the server with the stored card and device tokens, for a matching operation against the card, device and authorisation tokens at the server.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for communicating item information between merchant equipment for scanning or selecting the item and a customer's mobile device are provided. According to one aspect, a method for communicating item information between merchant equipment for scanning or selecting the item and a customer's mobile device includes, at a mobile device of a customer: receiving information for identifying merchant equipment for scanning or selecting an item; using the received information to establish a digital communication connection between the mobile device and the identified merchant equipment; and receiving information related to an item being scanned by the merchant equipment via the digital communication connection.
Abstract:
According to yet another aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a system for generating and completing a direct M2B ecommerce transaction using a mobile device. The system includes a database for storing and maintaining payment information for mobile users. The system also includes a mobile backend server that receives, from a mobile device of a user, first information about an item or transaction, where the mobile device received the first information from a source physically proximate to the mobile device, and second information about the user, that processes the first and second information to determine transaction information and to generate payment information, and that sends the transaction and payment information to a payment network for processing the ecommerce transaction.
