Abstract:
System (100) and method for determining where an object or person (702) is located in an EAS detection zone (150). The methods involve: simultaneously emitting a first signal from a first emitter (108) and a second signal from a second emitter (202); concurrently detecting the first and second signals during a first period of time by each of a first detector (110) and a second detector (204); and determining where the object or person is within the EAS detection zone based on a pattern of a signal output from at least one of the first and second detectors which reflects that at least one of the first and second signals is blocked by the object or person during at least one of a second period of time and a third period of time in which the object or person is traveling through the EAS detection zone.
Abstract:
A system for RFID-based retail management that includes a set of antennas, an RFID transceiver connected to the set of antennas; and a microprocessor-based system manager that controls the RFID transceiver and transforms RFID response data from the RFID transceiver into RFID tag location data according to read probability methods.
Abstract:
Disclosed are techniques to authenticate tags passing through detection regions against an access control list, receive data that identifies a number of people passing through or within the detection regions, compare the number people identified by the received data with the number of tags identified by the system, and cause an alarm to be asserted when a discrepancy is detected in the number people identified with the number of tags in a detection region with personnel within the detection region.
Abstract:
A smart detacher includes a detacher and an RFID reader. The smart detacher may be a handheld detacher or a secondary detacher. A method of monitoring using a security tag with an RFID chip therein and an detacher having an RFID reader operably connected thereto comprising the steps of: writing information onto the RFID chip; attaching the security tag to a product; detaching the security tag from the product and reading the information on the RFID chip; and forwarding the information to a control system.
Abstract:
The inventive subject matter relates to systems and methods relating to managing shopping cart and other wheeled conveyance assets of an enterprise. More particularly, one aspect of the inventive subject matter relates to using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and control units to track, manage, and maintain shopping cart and other wheeled conveyance assets of a enterprise, in order to immobilize such wheeled conveyance if an unauthorized attempt is made to move it outside a prescribed use area into a restricted area. In a further aspect of the inventive subject matter, said systems and methods permit authorized uses of such assets to take them into a restricted area.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Tracking items of items in a facility involves using an RFID portal system to determine when an EAS tag (112) containing an RFID element (210) has exited from a secured area within the facility. The EAS tag is triggered to initiate a wireless beacon signal upon exiting. Thereafter, control logic (218) associated with the EAS tag is used to cause the wireless beacon signal to be communicated at predetermined intervals. The wireless beacon signal includes unique identifier information concerning the EAS tag. When the beacon signal is received at one or more short range communication (SRC) devices outside the secured area, its location is determined.
Abstract:
A tag or label incorporating embedded trigger technology, such as RFID, QR codes, or barcodes is disclosed to effectively integrate RFID or a trigger directly into the garment. Typically, the embedded technology is embedded via a digital manufacturing process, and the labels and tags enable a data connection via the embedded triggers and a unique identifier corresponding to the embedded triggers. Thus, once the trigger technology is enabled via scanning, visual recognition, UHF/NFC RFID, etc., data items in the data management platform are enabled. Specifically, the data items within the data management platform include sustainability, consumer engagement, authentication/brand protection, merchandising/marketing, and data management and can be leveraged to drive an interactive consumer experience.
