Apparatus (2) for showing moving images in a floor, which apparatus (2) comprises a housing (4) for being mounted in the floor, a panel (6) which is positioned at an upper part (8) of the housing (4) and which is ale to be walked on, a screen (10) which is positioned beneath the panel (6) and on which the moving images are generated, cooling means (12) for cooling the screen (10) during use of the apparatus (2), vent means (14) for enabling air to circulate through the housing (4), and drainage means (16) for draining liquid entering the housing (4), the apparatus (2) being such that the panel (6) is a transparent panel (6) whereby the moving images on the screen (10) are able to be seen through the panel (6).
Abstract:
The floor advertisement apparatus is used in a cavity (25) formed in the floor (21) of a building. A lower holding layer (31) is located and secured in the bottom of the cavity. An upper holding layer (37) with an opening (39) extending therethrough has a transparent layer (41) secured to one side of the upper holding layer. The transparent layer and the upper holding layer are located in the cavity. An advertising layer (33) is secured to the lower side of the transparent layer within the opening for viewing from above. Both of the holding layers may be magnetic material or one can be magnetic material and the other one of metal attracted by magnetic lines of force for removably holding the upper layer to the lower layer when the two layers are located next to each other such that the transparent layer with its advertising layer is removably held in the cavity. In another embodiment, a support layer (71) is secured in the cavity. The transparent layer has a layer of adhesive material (171) secured to its bottom side defining an opening (173) which is covered by the transparent layer. The layer of adhesive material has a lower side adapted to be removably secured to the upper side of the support layer. An advertising layer can be removably located below the transparent layer within the opening or it can be secured to the bottom side of the transparent layer within the opening such that it can be viewed from above.

A cavity (25) is formed in the floor (21) of a building for receiving the floor type apparatus. A lower holding layer (31) of magnetic material having an opening formed therethrough is located and secured in the lower portion of the cavity. An upper holding layer (37) of magnetic material having an opening (39) formed therethrough is attached to the lower side of a transparent layer (41) and both the transparent layer and the upper holding layer are located in the cavity to allow the magnetic lines of force from the holding layers to removably secure the transparent layer and the upper holding layer to the lower holding layer in the cavity. A support layer (91) is secured to the floor of the cavity within the opening of the lower holding layer for supporting an advertising layer (33). One side edge of the upper holding layer is bonded to one side edge of the lower holding layer whereby the other side edge of the upper holding layer with the transparent layer may be lifted from the lower holding layer and folded back to allow insertion or removal of the advertising layer.

A system for the display of an image medium on a horizontal plane, consisting of a display unit and display unit holder, wherein the display unit comprises at least a transparent top layer (2), a bottom plate (3) and a frame (4) made of bendable material. The frame (4) extends out to the circumferential edge of the top plate (2) and is thereby inextricably bound. The frame is inextricably bound to part of the circumferential edge of the bottom plate (3), in such a manner that the image medium (21), made up of sheet or a type of foil material, can be inserted in between the bottom plate and the top plate. The display unit holder contains a recessed area of which the dimensions match the outer dimensions of the display unit, in such a manner that the display unit can be detachably placed in the recessed area.

The billboard alternative, which permits the removable attachment of a sign- bearing billboard to the pavement, roads, parking garages, bikeways, walkways, sidewalks, etc. for use by public and private corporations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and individuals to advertise, promote, and inform drivers safely and effectively of anything that can be advertised. The billboard alternative uses a new, possibly porous material that adheres to the surface using an easily removable, extraordinarily durable adhesive. It allows for quick advertisement logo changes and is safe because the material is slip resistant, quick drying, and flush with the pavement.
