Abstract:
A method and system for displaying messages in a wide-spectrum display includes a visible element comprising a first portion of a message and an invisible element comprising a second portion of the message. In one aspect, the method includes the step of displaying, in the visible element, e.g. an image from a film, a captured photograph or a first part of an advertisement. The step of displaying, in the invisible element, includes the displaying e.g. of subtitles, metadata or a second part of an advertisement. An individual may choose to view the invisible element by viewing the wide spectrum display through a wavelength conversion device. Also disclosed are the use of the display in games, and of its integration in wearable material.
Abstract:
A drive circuit of a display device comprising a capacitive display (Hl) and a further display H2. The drive circuit is arranged to provide to the capacitive display, such as an electroluminescent display, an AC drive signal at a first, high voltage from a low voltage power source such that, in use, the drive circuit is repeatedly charged and discharged. The drive circuit is further arranged such that, when the capacitive display discharges, a discharge current from the display is supplied at a second, lower voltage to the further display. In the way energy from the capacitive display is used to drive a further display rather than being discarded.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided in order to augment an index image generated by a near eye display in order to more clearly present at least a portion of the index image. In the context of a method, a position of the mobile terminal (16) relative to an index image (14) generated by a near eye display (12) is determined. The method also determines an image to be presented by the mobile terminal based upon the index image (14) and the position of the mobile terminal (16) relative to the index image (14). The method also causes the image to be presented by the mobile terminal. A corresponding apparatus and a computer program product are also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus including: a display comprising a central portion and a curved side portion; a memory storing pages of content; and a display controller configured to control simultaneously the central portion of the display to display at least a portion of a first page of content and the curved side portion of the display to display additional information not forming part of the first page of content.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a screen for displaying information for an optical device, which is to be arranged in an optical path of the optical device. The screen for displaying information comprises: a power supply; and a transparent organic light-emitting diode (TOLED) which emits light in accordance with an input control signal.
