Abstract:
A taping section (14) of a harness making machine comprises a taping device (10), two conveyors (18, 20) and a bridging conveyor (40) positioned therebetween. The bridging conveyor (40) allows passage of pallets (34) that carry nodes of a harness (36) from the first conveyor (18) to the second conveyor (20). Once a node has passed over from the first to the second conveyor, the bridging conveyor (40) is vertically removed by the piston rod (43) to allow the taping device (10) to be positioned between the conveyors. The harness (4) is received in a slot (8) of the taping device which tapes the harness whilst it is axially moved by the conveyors until the second pallet (38) reaches the taping device (10). The taping device is removed, the bridging conveyor (14) inserted and the procedure continues as described above for taping the second section (4') of harness between the nodes (38, 39). A simple automated procedure for taping harnesses is thus provided.
Abstract:
A tape dispensing tool (100) includes holder assembly (104) and an applicator member (170). The holder assembly has a base portion and a retainer head that are spaced apart by a recess (124). A leader tape segment (118) extends across the recess from a tape roll (102) held by the base portion to the retainer head. The applicator member is moveably coupled to the holder assembly rearward of the leader tape segment. The applicator member includes a receiving surface (172) and a pressing surface (174) angled relative to one another. A cable bundle (108) forces a proximal portion (210) of the leader tape segment against the receiving surface as the cable bundle is received in the recess, which moves the applicator member. The movement of the applicator member causes the pressing surface to force a distal portion (212) of the leader tape segment against the cable bundle to adhere the leader tape segment to the cable bundle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (1) for banding long objects (40) with a holder for a roll (30) of adhesive tape, a device (18) for drawing the tape from the roll (30), a winding tool (2) for winding the tape around the object (40) and a cutter (12) for cutting the tape on completion of the winding process. According to the invention, the winding tool (2) has a stationary part (3) and a rotating part (4) and the stationary part (3) is movably secured to a holder (6), the holder for the roll (30) of tape is secured to the rotating part (4) so that it is guided around the object during the winding process and the device (18) is fitted on the stationary part. This provides a mobile winding tool (2) for the fully automatic banding of complex cable harnesses and single partial conductor sections.
Abstract:
A tape dispensing tool (100) includes a hub (106), a fixed holder arm, and an adjustable holder arm. The hub extends through a core of a roll of tape (102). The fixed holder arm extends from the hub along a first side (116) of the roll of tape and has a fixed orientation relative to the hub. The fixed holder arm includes a first cradle (112) configured to receive a cable bundle therein. The adjustable holder arm extends from the hub along an opposite, second side (114) of the roll of tape. The adjustable holder arm includes a second cradle (110) configured to receive the cable bundle therein. The adjustable holder arm has an adjustable position relative to the hub and the fixed holder arm to select an angular position of the second cradle relative to the first cradle for setting an overlap amount as the tape is applied to the cable bundle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a portable wire-taping apparatus, and more particularly, to a portable wire-taping apparatus that can load any tape having any diameter when taping a wire, to effectively performing a taping process. Provided is a portable wire-taping apparatus including a housing having a side cut portion communicating with a central portion thereof and a plurality of inner gears connected to each other through a belt, a grip portion coupled to a side of the housing, a rotatable engaging disk disposed on a side surface of the housing, and a tape holder provided to the engaging disk, characterized in that the tape holder (30) includes, a tape support plate (32) inclined outward on a side of a wire inlet (22) of the engaging disk (20), a couple of outward protruding supports (33) being spaced a predetermined distance on a front surface of the tape support plate (32), a rotatable tape-holding element (35) having a side coupled to the tape support plate (32) through a hinge pin (36), and a torsion spring (38) having both ends fixed to the tape-holding element (35) and the hinge pin (36), the hinge pin (36) pressing the tape-holding element (35) such that a side of the tape-holding element (35) is disposed between the supports (33).
Abstract:
A system (1) for binding flexible, elongated objects (20) comprises a feed mechanism (7) for advancing the objects (20) and a winding wheel (12) arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis of the objects (20). The wheel is provided with a tape roll support (13) which revolves together with the wheel. The feed mechanism (7) has a feed carriage (8) which moves parallel to the axis of rotation of the winding wheel or to the longitudinal axis of the objects (20) and a holding device (9) on side nearest the winding wheel for the start of the objects (20). The feed mechanism (7) has two rollers (10, 11), one above the other, which can be displaced vertically and whose axes of rotation are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the objects (2). One roll (10) acts as a feed length receiver (10'), the other roll (11) as a feed drive (11'). The feed carriage (18) is partially or fully synchronized with the feed drive (11') and the feed length is controlled by comparison of the reference and actual values in an electrical control programme unit (2).
