본원 발명은 탄화수소계 전해질막과 불소계 이오노머가 포함된 촉매층간에 상용성(compatability) 부족에 의한 연료전지 작동 중 계면이 탈리되는 문제점을 극복하기 위한 탄화수소계 전해질 고분자와 나피온 고분자 조성의 구배(gradient)를 통하여 접착력이 향상된 연료전지용 막-전극 계면 접착층, 이를 이용한 막-전극 접합체(membrane electrode assembly: MEA) 및 연료전지에 대한 것이다.

A method for the manufacture of an oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyst, the method comprising; providing a metal organic framework (MOF) material having a specific internal pore volume of 0.7 cm 3 g -1 or greater; providing a source of iron and/or cobalt; pyrolysing the MOF material together with the source of iron and/or cobalt to form the catalyst, wherein the MOF material comprises nitrogen and/or the MOF material is pyrolysed together with a source of nitrogen and the source of iron and/or cobalt is disclosed.

A novel catalyst includes a plurality of nanoparticles, each nanoparticle including a core made of a catalytic metal and a porous shell surrounding the core, made of metal oxide, the porous shell preserving a catalytic function of the core and reducing reduction of the core and coalescence of the nanoparticles.
Abstract:
An electrolyte membrane suitable for use in an electrochemical cell is de- scribed. It comprises a polymer electrolyte body and at least one metal oxide thin film layer on at least one surface of the polymer electrolyte body, wherein said metal oxide thin film layer is permeable to protons. Furthermore, the method for preparation and uses thereof are disclosed.

Medienverteilerfeldplatte für eine elektrochemische Zelle, wobei in der Medienverteilerfeldplatte parallel verlaufende, durch Stege (1) begrenzte Medienführungskanäle (2) für die fluidförmigen Reaktionsmedien mit einer mäanderförmigen Struktur angeordnet sind, wobei an den Mäandergrenzkanälen (3,3'), welche an Stegen mit entgegengesetzter Strömungsrichtung der Reaktionsmedien vorhanden sind, Mäandergrenzstege (4,4') vorgesehen sind, die stufenförmig ansteigend verbreitert sind, in der Weise, dass die Stegbreite in den Umlenkungsbereichen (5,5') der Mäandergrenzkanäle (3,3') am niedrigsten ist. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung eine elektrochemische Zelle, insbesondere eine Brennstoffzelle oder Redox-Flow-Zelle mit einer solchen Medienverteilerfeldplatte auf der Kathodenseite und/oder Anodenseite, insbesondere eine Direkt-Methanol-Brennstoffzelle (DMFC).
