방송 신호 수신 장치는 방송 신호를 수신하는 수신부, 상기 수신된 방송 신호를 OFDM 방식으로 복조하는 복조부, 상기 복조된 방송 신호에 포함된 신호 프레임의 전부 또는 일부 심볼들에 대해 싱글 메모리를 이용하여 프리퀀시 디인터리빙을 수행하는 프리퀀시 디인터리버, 상기 프리퀀시 디인터리브된 심볼들을 포함하는 신호 프레임의 적어도 하나의 서브프레임에 포함된 PLP별로 각 PLP의 데이터를 타임 디인터리빙하는 타임 디인터리버, 및 상기 타임 인터리브된 각 PLP의 데이터에 대해 PLP별로 FEC 디코딩을 수행하는 디코딩부를 포함할 수 있다.

A transmitting apparatus, a receiving apparatus and a method of controlling these apparatus are provided. The transmitting apparatus includes: a frame generator configured to generate a plurality of frames which include one or more kinds of data; a preamble symbol inserter configured to insert at least one preamble symbol in each of the plurality of frames, and insert, in a preamble symbol of a frame, location information about at least one frame, among the plurality of frames, which includes a same kind of data as a kind of data included in the frame; and a transmitter configured to transmit the plurality of frames in each of which the preamble symbol is inserted.

The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, encoding Data Pipe, DP, data according to a code rate, wherein the encoding further includes Low-Density Parity-Check, LDPC, encoding the DP data, Bit interleaving the LDPC encoded DP data, and mapping the bit interleaved DP data onto constellations; building at least one signal frame by mapping the encoded DP data; and modulating data in the built signal frame by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, method and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data.

The apparatus may be a data source determining to send a multicast transmission for a multicast group having a multicast group identifier, wirelessly communicating an expression with at least one node in the multicast group, the expression based on the multicast group identifier, and sending the multicast transmission to the at least one node. The apparatus may a data receiver determining to receive a multicast transmission for a multicast group having a multicast group identifier, wirelessly communicating an expression with a data source in the multicast group, the expression based on the multicast group identifier, and receiving the multicast transmission from the data source.

In a method for cancelling interference caused by a terrestrial transmitter at a satellite receiver in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial network, a satellite receiver generates an interference cancellation signal based on a reference terrestrial signal from the terrestrial transmitter and a received over-the-air (OTA) signal. The satellite receiver then cancels the interference caused by the terrestrial transmitter by combining the interference cancellation signal with the received OTA signal. The interference cancellation signal is a modified version of the reference terrestrial signal.

The controller is configured for controlling the compressor (204) or the time-de-interleaver (206) so that a higher interleaving size such as a higher interleaving time or a higher number of data units per second is applied, when a compression in a lower number of bits is active.
