    Abstract: A method for assisting link adaptation of a downlink between a eNB (101) and a User Equipment (103) in an LTE system operating in unlicensed spectrum which is subject to intermittent interference, relies on the UE sending to the eNB additional information included in channel quality indicator (CQI) reports notifying the eNB of the duty cycle of the interferer.
