Abstract:
The present disclosure enables a UE (100) to discover a P-CSCF (85) in the IMS network based on the services offered by the P-CSCF or the area served by the P-CSCF (85) when it establishes a data session. The P-CSCF (85) registers with a discovery node (70) in the wireless communication network (10) and provides relevant information about the P-CSCF (85) to the discovery node (70), such as the type of services provided, its network address and/or FQDN, a list of cells supported, and a list of tracking areas supported. When a request is received to establish a session with the IMS for a UE, the SMF (45) in the wireless communication network (10) queries the discovery node (70)to fetch the P-CSCF (85) information and forwards the P-CSCF information to the requesting UE. The UE (100) selects a P-CSCF (85) to use when it initiates IMS registration.
Abstract:
A method of securely registering a User Equipment, UE, with an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. The method comprises sending from the UE to the IMS network, a Session Initiation Protocol, SIP, REGISTER message comprising information encrypted using the public key part of a public-private key pair belonging to the IMS network or to a controller of the IMS network.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transferring an IMS or an OTT communication session between a first user equipment and a second user equipment to a third user equipment based on the communication type and an indication enabling transfer due to data transmission restriction applied on the second user equipment is provided. A network entity (DPI or IMS CSCF) receives a first message for establishing a communication session from the first user equipment to a second user equipment. It obtains information indicating transfer due to data transmission restriction is enabled for the second user equipment and determines based on the information and the type of the communication session (e.g., voice, video, etc.) that the communication session should be transferred by sending a message to transfer the establishment of the communication session between the first user equipment and the transfer-to-destination equipment provided at an application server (OTT) or by the HSS (IMS).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a controller in a communication system in which a first control unit and a second control unit of the controller independently carry out a first call setup procedure and a second call setup procedure for setting up a call between a first and a second terminal. Since the second call setup procedure running independently from the first call setup procedure may result in unnecessary and undesired alerting (Ghost or Phantom ringing) at the second terminal, the invention provides for sending a cancel message to the second terminal to stop the continuously running second call setup procedure under certain conditions. Such conditions can be the failure of the first call setup procedure, or the receiving of a cancel message actively sent by the first terminal. The invention is particularly useful in TCP based IMS systems.
Abstract:
A user of a communications device such as a smartphone may place calls to emergency services using the device. The device may be configured to automatically initiate a conference call in response to a user request to initiate an emergency services call. For example, the user may provide configuration information that includes an emergency contact person and a medical care facility and, upon receiving a request from the user to place an emergency call, the device may initiate a multi-party voice call or conference call to an emergency dispatch center, the emergency contact person, and the medical care facility.
Abstract:
A request from a watcher client to obtain presence information of a presentity client may be processed at a presence server using a system configuration of the presence server that stores local presence authorization rules ("pres-rules"). By storing pres-rules locally at the presence server, these pres-rules may be used by the presence server in lieu of, or in combination with, other pres-rules that may be maintained by a separate pres-rules storage server, such as an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Document Management Server (XDMS). The system configuration may specify configurable parameters that control the behavior of the presence server in engaging the XDMS when processing requests from watcher clients, as well as the behavior of the presence server in merging pres-rules retrieved from the XDMS with the local pres-rules maintained by the presence server.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method for controlling services in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, the IMS comprising a Home Subscriber Server, HSS, and a Serving Call Session Control Function server, S-CSCF. The method comprises: configuring (4110) in the HSS a service profile, SP, in relationship with the subscription to the IMS of a user, the SP comprising a set of SP data usable by the S-CSCF for processing of services of said user, transmitting (4210) the set of SP data from the HSS to a S-CSCF, and controlling (4310) by the S-CSCF the processing of services of said user according to the set of SP data received from the HSS; wherein configuring (4110) the SP comprises configuring (4115) new SP data used to identify in the S-CSCF a controlling rule, said controlling rule comprising values for one or more timers for controlling by the S-CSCF the value of a time associated to the processing of services of said user. The method further comprises: configuring (4305) in the S-CSCF a controlling rule, said controlling rule comprising: a rule value that maps to a value of the new SP data, and, in relationship with the rule value, values for one or more timers for controlling by the S-CSCF a time associated to the processing of services of said user; wherein the transmitting (4210) the set of SP data from the HSS to a S-CSCF further comprises transmitting (4215) the new SP data.
