Abstract:
A global endpoint may be associated with an organization name and a plurality of directories located in different geographic regions. The global endpoint may be a computing system that hosts a page used by users to access an application or service. A user may be able to access the application or service using already existing credentials. For example, the user may access the application or service using credentials stored and maintained by an entity with which the user is affiliated. Users having credentials stored in different geographic regions may be able to access the application or service via the same global endpoint.
Abstract:
A mechanism for a first apparatus in a communication network is described. The communication network comprises the first apparatus, a second apparatus and a plurality of servers. The mechanism comprises sending at least a message to the second apparatus to obtain zone information of each of said plurality of servers, receiving the requested zone information from the second apparatus, and building a topology database based on the received zone information.
Abstract:
An exemplary system according to the present disclosure comprises a lower tier radioletTM that is in communication with a local switching office of a mobile data network, and an upper tier radioletTM that is in communication with the lower tier radioletTM and an Internet datacenter. In operation, the upper tier radioletTM receives data extracted from the Internet datacenter and distributes at least a portion of the received data to the lower tier radioletTM. At the lower tier radioletTM, the portion of received data is store. The lower tier radioletTM then receives a data request (relating to a portion of received data) and in turn, transmits data from the portion of received data to a source of the data request. The lower tier radioletTM is located closer to the source of the data request than the Internet datacenter to improve application performance and efficiency of network as well as datacenter.
Abstract:
In an actor system, messages communicated to and from a first actor in a first location of an actor system can be monitored. A message frequency between the first actor and a second actor in a second location of the actor system can be determined. The message frequency can be compared to a threshold message frequency. A determination cars be made whether to move the first actor from the first location based on comparison of the message frequency to the threshold message frequency.
Abstract:
A method for performing distributed geographic event processing, comprises defining a geographical state system for a universe of locations that includes a model for stateful geographic event processing, said model specifying at least a state transition function for transforming geographic input events into output events and a global aggregation function for aggregating sets of output events, providing a local state system for a subset of said universe of locations being defined as a single-machine implementation of said geographical state system and a local aggregation function being defined as an implementation of the global aggregation function of said geographical state system, and by processing means, creating distributed scalable deployments that implement said geographical state system by dividing said universe of locations geographically among different computational nodes and by instantiating on each of said computational nodes an instance of said local state system and said local aggregation function conforming to the subset of said universe of locations assigned to the respective computational node.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are presented for accessing an application available from a data center of a program execution service. The metadata associated with a user computing device may be used to determine whether the user computing device is authorized to access the application through a virtual desktop instance. At least a portion of the application may be executed by the virtual desktop instance and provided to the user. Applications may be purchased, licensed, or rented by a user.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for directing a workload between distributed computing environments. Performance and use data from each of a plurality of computer clusters is monitored on a periodic or continuous basis. The plurality of computers can include a first subset being in a first region and a second subset being in a second region. Each region has known performance characteristics, zone of performance and zone of reliability which is used in distributing a workload or job. A job is received at the system, wherein the system determines a routing for the job to a distributed computing environment, wherein the routing is in response to the obtained performance and use data, and the region encompassing the given computer cluster.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing geomessaging clients mobility between different geomessaging servers are discussed with relation to the interaction of nodes in either an IMS or a non-IMS based network.
