Abstract:
Described herein is a technology that facilitates the printing of an image aligned within a pre-cut shape of a photo-medium in accordance with the technology described herein. The technology described herein provides a reticule overlaid on a selected image. The reticule has a shape matching a pre- cut shape of a photo-medium loaded in the associated printer. The technology described herein facilitates alignment of an object-of-interest in the image within the reticule and then directs the associated printer to print the image on the loaded photo-medium with the object-of-interest printed within the pre- cut shape in accordance with the alignment.
Abstract:
System and method for removing sensitive or identifying information in a medical image includes receiving a medical image (52) that includes pixel data and identification data (70). The identification data (70) associated with the medical image (52) is obtained and one or more pixel blocks of the pixel data are sampled from the medical image. Using the identification data and sampled pixel data, a masking template (62, 64) for the image is determined and applied to the medical image to mask the information in the medical image (52).
Abstract:
A raster image processing method and raster image processor wherein the content objects in a document are validated on similarity, especially on continuity, to convert the similar objects with one or more same parameters of an image manipulation method to achieve a correct reproduction of the document.
Abstract:
A system and method identifying a framing system having a holding area with positioning features that hold a masking surface that generally blocks the passage of light through the masking surface except in a plurality of window areas; determining an arrangement of a plurality of overlapping receiver mediums to provide a plurality of image receiving areas in correspondence with one of the of the window areas when a reference edge of each of the receiver mediums is located using an associated one of the positioning features; and printing images in the image receiving areas of the plurality of receiver medium sheets according to the determined arrangement; wherein said determining is performed in a manner that causes any overlapping edge between two receiver mediums to be positioned outside any of the window areas, and causes at least portions of selected images to be positioned within the window areas.
Abstract:
A border region (70) is identified in an image (40) by calculating an average of pixel values in a row (20) or column (10) of the image (40). Differences in property values are determined between each pixel (30) in the row (20) or column (10) and a neighboring pixel (30) present on a same column (10) or row (20) but in a neighboring row (20) or column (10). An average difference is calculated based on these differences. The pixels (30) in the row (20) or column (10) are classified as belonging to a border region (70) or internal region (75) of the image (40) based on the average pixel value and the average pixel difference.
Abstract:
A target image information extracting part (31) determines an area of a target image in an original image, and extracts target image information including information related to the position and size of the target image area in the original image. Subsequently, a make image producing part (32) produces, based on both the target image information and the mask image information registered in a mask image information file, a mask image to be superimposed on the original image and displayed. As a result, the mask image, which comprises an element image selected from element image selection information, is produced, with a desired size, in a desired position in the target image area in the original image. Then, a combined image producing part (33) produces a combined image obtained by superimposing the mask image on the original image. As a result, an image in which the user's edition of the original image has been implemented can be readily and appropriately produced, irrespectively of whether it is a still image or a moving image.
Abstract:
A digital still camera combines a display pattern received from a printing apparatus and a photographed image with each other, and displays the resultant image on a viewfinder. A user adjusts the balance between the display pattern and the image of the object both being displayed on the viewfinder, and depresses a shutter release button. The digital still camera fetches the photographed image. The digital still camera sends to the printing apparatus the fetched image and a pattern name specifying the display pattern used at the time of photographing. The printing apparatus combines the decoration pattern specified by the pattern name and the image received from the digital still camera into composite image data. The printing apparatus prints the composite image data.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an apparatus for recording the entire region of an original in one specific color such as black, which apparatus paints out a specified region thereof with an other color in order to prepare a document having the effect where marking is made on a predetermined region. Selection means (14) is used for selecting two recording means (11, 13) for effecting these two recording operations. When the adjustment of recording density by these recording means (11, 13) is made independently, marking can be made effectively depending on recording color and the like. If designation means for designating colors used for marking exists, designation of color is easy. It is advantageous for the practical operation of the apparatus to provide an exclusive mode for correcting input data such as designated colors or to make it possible to display the corrected content.
Abstract:
A method fo preparing an original plate for printing leaflets and catalogs by using a computer. Designs of leaflets and catalogs are classified into line drawings, photographs and characters, are input to the computer via the respective input devices, and are laid out while being displayed on a display. Layout conditions are confirmed by using a hard copy. The original plate for printing is prepared based upon data output from a computer. The invention discloses a method for efficient layout of line drawings, photographs and characters on a display. As for the layout of line drawings, the line drawings are laid out being designated in an analog manner on the display. As for the photographs, only contours are displayed and laid out on the display. As for the characters, data to be given to the rule block copy and to the photocomposing machine are produced based upon the characters laid out on the display. The invention further discloses a method of efficiently designating colors on the display. Ratios of reference color concentrations are designated in an analog manner on the display, and a color that is obtained when the designated reference colors are mixed together is displayed on the display.
