Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE determines CSI. The UE determines whether to send the CSI based on at least one of a timer or a threshold. The UE sends the CSI upon determining to send the CSI. The UE may send the CSI in a MAC header upon determining to send the CSI. When the UE determines whether to send the CSI based on the threshold, the UE may determine whether to send the CSI based on a difference between the CSI and reference CSI. The UE may determine the reference CSI based on at least one of previously reported CSI, fixed CSI, or an MCS of a received data transmission from a base station. The UE may send CSI to the base station in an initial connection setup with the base station.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved method for handover of a mobile node from E- UTRAN to UTRAN in a scenario where SMS is the only service of the mobile node. The improved handover method allows saving radio resources by establishing the signalling connection for SMS exchange in the target network, and avoiding the data connection in the target network, since it is not used. The MME takes the decision to establish or not the data connection in the target UTRAN, and accordingly instructs the SGSN and UE to set the corresponding PDP contexts for the data connection to a "preserved" state, so as to avoid the establishment of same. Embodiments further relate to improved SMS delivery for IDLE mode UEs that activate ISR so as to avoid the involvement of the MSC server. Instead, packet-switched domain nodes are to be involved only.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for verifying a release of a local IP access (LIPA) packet data network (PDN) connection in a wireless communication system is provided. A mobility management entity (MME) receives a handover preparation message from a source home eNodeB (HeNB), verifying whether the LIPA PDN connection has been released or not on receiving the handover preparation message. If the LIPA PDN connection has been released already, the MME performs a normal handover procedure. If the LIPA PDN connection has not been released, the MME transmits a handover preparation failure message to the source HeNB.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for receiving multicast data in a wireless communication system and a machine to machine (M2M) device therefor. The method wherein the M2M device receives multicast data in a wireless communication system according to the present invention includes the steps of: receiving multicast data from a base station; and indicating that the multicast data transmitted from the base station is the last multicast or receiving information including a signal which indicates the end of multicast transmission. The information can be transmitted with or separate from the multicast data, and is piggybacked with the multicast data if the information is transmitted with the multicast data.
Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is a method for remote kill functions in cluster communications. The method applies to a cluster communication service session established between a controlling terminal and a controlled terminal, and comprises: the controlled terminal receiving from the controlling terminal an instruction message, comprising therein an operation message to remotely kill the controlled terminal; the controlled terminal authenticating the instruction message; upon successful authentication, the controlled terminal automatically exiting the session on the basis of the operation message pertaining to the remote kill. The present invention needs neither a network side to schedule a server, nor a scheduling platform, and is convenient to operate, thereby increasing operational responsiveness.
Abstract:
A method, system and device are provided for managing LIPA and/or SIPTO connection releases when UE moves out of residential/enterprise network coverage in case service continuity is not supported for the LIPA/SIPTO PDN connection(s). To address problems caused by not providing service continuity for LIPA/SIPTO PDN connections, the PDN connection/PDP context created in the HeNB/HNB by the MME/SGSN includes context information related to the UE indicating whether such connection is a LIPA PDN connection PDN connection or not. In addition, each UE may be configured to reconnect or not reconnect to the PDN corresponding to a certain APN or service, depending on how the PDN connection was disconnected by the network.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device (20) is provided (12) with at least one promotional message. Upon determining (13) that a communication link for that wireless communication device is terminating (either intentionally or unintentionally and without regard as to why the termination has occurred), at least one promotional message is provided (14) at the communication device to indicate termination of that communication link to a user of the communication device. In a preferred approach the promotional message is unique in that the signal is not used for other annunciation or notice purposes. For example, the communication device will not use this signal to also indicate the existence of an incoming call.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a method, comprising using actual values inside an Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM) activation session to produce a unique combination of values for a mobile device operable in a wireless network to verify activation by a certain network service provider (NSP).
