Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved process for making hydroxyethyl piperazine compounds especially mono-hydroxyethyl piperazine. The improvement comprises reacting piperazine and an alkylene oxide, preferably ethylene oxide in a reactive distillation column.
Abstract:
A process for producing styrene, comprising: contacting a feed mixture comprising ethyl benzene and xylene with a dehydrogenation catalyst in a dehydrogenation reactor to form a reaction mixture comprising styrene, xylene, ethyl benzene, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing under operating conditions to produce a greater than or equal to 70% conversion of the ethyl benzene to styrene; and passing the reaction mixture through a divided wall distillation column to separate the styrene from the other components of the reaction mixture, wherein styrene is removed as a first product from the divided wall distillation column at a bottom portion of the divided wall distillation column and the other components of the reaction mixture are removed as a second product at a top portion of the divided wall distillation column.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to processes for production of alkene products from their alkene precursors, such as 3~hydroxyacid and alcohols, via either (1) high temperature reactive distillation with steam contact at optimal pH, (2) solvent extraction and Mulzer dehydration, (3) solid phase adsorption, desorption into an organic solvent and catalytic reaction and (4) high temperature reactive distillation with steam contact at optimal pH followed by catalytic conversion.
Abstract:
The present invention disclose a single step one pot process for synthesis of oxazoline and imidazole derivatives from glycerol using solid acid metal catalyst with improved yield.
Abstract:
Various embodiments disclosed relate to methods and apparatus for synthesizing various biphenols. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of making a bisphenol including feeding a phenol at or proximate to the first end of a reactor column including a first end and a second end and including a solid catalyst distributed in multiple locations between the first end and the second end of the reactor column. The method includes feeding an oxomethylene compound to the reactor column at a first location that is at or proximate the first end and at one or more additional locations between the first location and the second end of the reactor column, and removing at least some water from the reactor column. The method includes removing a product composition including a diphenolmethylene product at or proximate to the second end of the reactor column.
Abstract:
A process for purifying crude fluoromethyl 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl ether (sevoflurane). The crude sevoflurane is repeatedly washed with water under conditions and for a time sufficient to reduce the level of 1,1, 1,3,3, 3-hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) to no more than 200 ppm or no more than 100 ppm.
