Abstract:
A reach out lock for a sliding door is disclosed. The reach out lock includes keeper having a keeper latch (14) and a locking mechanism (22) having a hook (26) to engage the keeper latch. The reach out lock further includes a mechanism (36) which prevents actuation of the locking mechanism if the locking mechanism is out of alignment with the keeper.
Abstract:
A lock is described for sliding aluminium door or window panels, wherein are used discrete hooking and locking mechanisms. The hooking mechanism comprises an oblong hook profile (21) which rotates automatically in a hooking or unhooking position into a vertically extending frame profile (1) which bears a respective recession shaping, as the sliding door/window panel is simply pulled in the opening or shutting direction, respectively. The locking mechanism operates so that, when being controlled by the user, it is set in a position for capturing the hooking mechanism in the hooking position, by capturing the immobilisation arm of the above mentioned, otherwise freely and automatically rotating, oblong hook profile (21).
Abstract:
A two point lock includes two pivotally mounted security hooks having sliding faces that engage sliding faces of a spring-loaded mishandling pin when the mishandling pin is vertically extended and the security hooks are rotatably retracted. The mishandling pin is vertically retracted when it abuts a jamb. When the mishandling pin is vertically retracted, the sliding faces disengage so that the security hooks can rotate to lock onto a striker on the jamb. Thus, the mishandling pin prevents the security hooks from being slammed into the striker before a door or a window is fully closed.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A lock for the locking of a sliding closure. The lock includes a housing (10) with a pair of hook shaped locking elements (11) which are mounted for counter-rotation within the housing. A handle (26) is mounted for rotation on the housing and is coupled to a gear wheel (23) which meshes with a pair of rack elements (30, 32) which are located for sliding movement in the housing (10). A projection (34) from each rack element (30, 32) engages in a curved slot (35) of the locking element (11). Consequently, rotation of the handle (26) results in a sliding movement of each of the racks (30, 32) which causes the locking elements to move between a firstposition where the locking elements are substantially retracted in the housing (10) and a second position where the locking elements can latchingly engage with a strike.
Abstract:
Leaf (4) of a sliding window (1) or sliding door, whereby this leaf (4) has a horizontal profile (13) and an upright side profile (12) perpendicular to the horizontal profile (13), whereby the horizontal profile (13} is provided with a lock plate (10) for a lock (9), whereby the leaf (4) is equipped with an adjustment mechanism to be able to adjust the position of the lock plate (10) in the direction (P) in which the horizontal profile (13) extends and to be able to secure the lock plate (10) to the leaf (4), whereby the adjustment mechanism can be operated from the side where the side profile (12) is located.
Abstract:
A sliding door latch with a finger pull mechanism is described that fits within a standardized aperture normally utilized for a hinged door latch. Provided is a latch assembly having an extendable latching hook (150) for mounting in a sliding door and latching with a strike plate mounted in a door frame and a finger pull mechanism for accessing the sliding door from within a surrounding framework. Included are a housing assembly for fitting within the sliding door, an exposed edge plate (15) mounted to the edge of the sliding door beside the housing assembly (10), a latching hook (150) for engaging with the strike plate and extendable through the exposed edge plate (15), and a finger pull mechanism mounted in the edge plate (15).
Abstract:
A power striker apparatus (20) engages a striker (22) with a latch (26) to move the striker with respect to the latch mechanism from a secondary latch position to a primary latch position. A base member (24) supports the striker for movement between a first position and a second position with respect to the latch mechanism. A biasing member (28) urges the base member toward the first position. A drive (30) moves the base member from the first position against the urging of the biasing member toward the second position and selectively releases the base member when in the second position if the striker is in the secondary latch position when the base member reaches the second position, such that the striker snaps back to the first position in response to the urging of the biasing member to inertially drive the striker into the primary latch position with respect to the latch mechanism from the secondary latch position before the moveable closure (14) can move with respect to the moveable closure opening (12).
Abstract:
A door locking mechanism (10) for locking a first slidable door (12) to a second door (14). A base member (16) is mounted to a side of the second door (14) and is positioned parallel the first door (12). A hinge member (18) is mounted to the base member (16) so as to pivot about a vertical axis. A receiving member (40) is mounted to a face of the first door (12) so as to be engageable by the hinge member (18). The hinge member (18) includes a slidable tab portion (28) with a downwardly extending tab (38). The hinge member (18) is rotated away from the base member (16) and the tab portion (28) is slid downward to engage the locking mechanism (10) within the receiving member (40).
