Abstract:
A door security apparatus (10) is provided which holds a door (20) in a closed position. The preferred apparatus (10) includes a cross member (50) which carries two cylindrical sleeves (62, 62') at opposite ends thereof. The cylindrical end sleeves (62, 62') releasably attach to coupling members (40, 30) supported by mounting plates (41, 33) and extending beyond the plane of the door. The cylindrical end sleeves (62, 62') of the preferred embodiments slidably engage a hinge cylinder (32) of an existing hinge on a hinged edge of the door (20) and an extension member (42) of a special side support on a latched edge of the door. The preferred apparatus (10) is formed from a hollow support member (50) and two telescoping members (60, 60') which slide through opposite ends of the support member (50).
Abstract:
A roll-up door having a smaller service door therein is provided. The smaller service door pivots about a vertical hinged edge and enables an operator to move through the roll-up door more efficiently via the smaller and more convenient service door. According to one embodiment of the invention, a self-locking assembly is provided on the free end of the service door for holding together the free end of the service door so that it moves together as a single unit when the service door is in use. A method of manufacturing a roll-up door having a service door therein is also provided.
Abstract:
A lock system for a shed (A) having a crossbar (30) which is inserted through an opening in a side wall of the shed (A) through guides (40) mounted on the rear of the front wall and the doors of the shed (A) secured by a lock. The crossbar (30) is a solid, elongated rod (32) with a first lock plate (34) projecting from one end of the rod (32). A stationary bracket (20) is mounted to the interior of the shed (A) with a second lock plate (24) extending through the opening in the side wall of the shed (A). A base plate (14) having an aperture (16) defined therein is attached to the exterior of the side wall of the shed (A), the first (34) and second (24) lock plates to extend through the aperture (16). The first and second (24) lock plates have apertures (38, 26) defined therein which may be aligned in order to receive a lock (12) securing the crossbar (30) to the shed (A).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for locking a door element (1a) in an opening to a space. The device comprises an operating member (2) arranged outside this space, which member (2) is arranged to allow, by a motion transmission mechanism, displacement of a locking bar (6), arranged inside the space, between a first position when the locking bar (6) allows an opening of the door element (1a) and a second position when the locking bar (6) connects the door element (1a) to a second element (1b) such that opening of the door element (1a) is prevented and a lock (3) allowing locking of the locking bar (6) in said second position. A protective housing (5) is arranged to encase the locking bar (6) and the parts of the lock (3) and the motion transmission mechanism that are arranged inside the space.
Abstract:
A locking apparatus for locking the rear doors (11, 12) of a trailer that has door closing members including left and right vertical bars (17, 18) on the doors and horizontal clasps that attach respectively to the bars. The apparatus includes a pair of structural blocks (25, 26) attached to the doors using bolting or welding, for example. A hollow spanning member (27) is transversely positioned to span between the blocks, the spanner member having a central open-ended bore (28) that communicates with preferably both end portions of the bar. Each of the blocks (25, 26) has a receptacle (49, 59) that slidably receives an end portion of the bar. One of the blocks has a vertical channel (40) that extends through the block between its upper and lower surfaces and which communicates with the receptacle (59), enabling a locking member (36) to be positioned in the channel (40) and form a connection with the bar at the intersection of the receptacle and channel.
