A link assembly (3) for an agricultural ground engaging chain (1) including a plurality of link assemblies, the link assembly including: a first component (7) having a first clamping portion (21) and a first link portion (13) for linking with a link portion of an adjacent link assembly; a second component (9) having a second clamping portion (27) and a second link portion (15) for linking with a link portion of an adjacent link assembly; a harrow member (5) has a first side (17) and an opposite second side (19); at least one resilient spring plate (22) wherein the resilient spring plate is elastically deformable, and at least one fastening element (11). The resilient spring plate urges the first and second components (7, 9) to retain the components of the link assembly together.

This disclosure is directed to the field of agricultural machinery and relates to preplanting tillage implements generally used in combination with a seed planting device, or other multi-row implement. Specifically, the disclosure relates to row treating units incorporating a row clearance arrangement or a combination of tools that includes a row cleaning device and a soil penetrating coulter device. The units are designed to be attached to the front of a multi-row implement. The deployment of and down force exerted by the row cleaner is independently adjustable and controlled using pneumatic air bag operators.

The blade sharpening system (38) also includes a sharpener (46) coupled to the pivoting member (42) and configured to engage a generally circular blade (22) of an agricultural implement (10) while the generally circular blade (22) is mounted on the agricultural implement (10). The pivoting member (42) is configured to enable movement of the sharpener (46) to accommodate lateral variations in a profile of the generally circular blade (22). The connection portion (45) is a truncated conical portion, the inner mantle surface of which is mainly straight or double-bowed with the convex side facing said inner side and a line through the opening plane in the hole opening of each fastening screw hole on said inner side forms an angle α with a plane that is perpendicular to the centre line of the disc, wherein the angle α is 5° - 10°.

The apparatus also includes at least one blade (10) having a leading edge (11) defined by the intersection of two opposite side surfaces and a means (41, 45) for mounting said blades on said apparatus so that said leading edge (11) is held close to or in intimate contact with said disc (1), wherein said at least one blade's leading edge (11) is inclined in a plane of said blade such that an angle of the leading edge (11) with respect to an arc (A, B, C) of the disc surface passing beneath the leading edge (11) is zero or positive over the entire length of the leading edge (11).
