Abstract:
The present invention relates to a flexible waterproofing/impregnation and drying de- vice and a method of drying items that have undergone a solvent-based or water-based waterproofing/impregnation process. The flexible waterproofing/impregnation and dry- ing device is configured with inlets for waterproofing/impregnation fluid for water- proofing/impregnating items and one or more heat generating units for effective drying of items, said items being for example clothes, shoes, bags, purses, blankets and garments.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of making an article of footwear includes temporarily attaching a midsole structure to a last and inserting the midsole structure and footwear last through a braiding machine. A braided structure in the form of an upper is formed. The upper includes a midsole structure disposed within an interior cavity of the upper.
Abstract:
A new shoe cover machine includes a gummed tape chamber (15), a cutter (4), a bottom plate (11), a sidewall (12), a beam (14), an elastic cushion (2) and a pressure lever (5). The gummed tape chamber (15) and the beam (14) are arranged at the two ends of said bottom plate (11) respectively. The cutter (4) is arranged on the beam (14). The pressure lever (5) is connected with a pressure lever-controlling device. Coil-shaped singlesided gummed tape (7) or singlesided gummed paper (7) is arranged in said gummed tape chamber (15). One end of said gummed tape (7) or gummed paper (7) is pulled out and is laid on the elastic cushion (2) with the side on which glue is provided facing upwards. When used, the sole is aimed at the gummed tape (7) on the elastic cushion (2) and is stepped down, then the shoe is adhered to the gummed tape (7). By now, the user only needs to pull the gummed tape (7) towards the cutter (4) by use of his foot, and cut off the gummed tape (7) at the front end of the shoe with the cutter (4).
Abstract:
A dispenser, comprising a moveable platform, at least one spindle, each said spindle including engagement means for engaging a shoe cover, means to couple said platform and said at least one spindle, the arrangement being such that each of said at least one spindle is movable responsive to movement of said platform.
Abstract:
A method for fitting shoes comprises maintaining an inventory of shoes of different styles and sizes, wherein each shoe has a flat inner foot receiving surface and measuring the size, width and arch height of feet of a customer to be fitted for shoes. The proper size shoes of at least one style selected by the customer is selected and an orthotic is inserted onto the flat inner foot receiving surface of each of the selected shoes. The combination of the orthotic and the shoe is fitted on the feet of the customer.
Abstract:
Process for waterproofing a semimanufactured product (1) of shoes, clothing items and accessories, said semimanufactured product (1) having a three-dimensional conformation, at least one inner surface (2) and one outer surface, characterized in that it comprises the following operative steps: turning inside out the semimanufactured product (1) so that its inner surface (2) is turned outwards; inserting at least one shaped member (4; 8) inside the semimanufactured product (1); pressing the semimanufactured product (1) provided with the shaped member (4; 8) between at least a pair of sheets (5) of a semi-permeable membrane whose surface turned toward the semimanufactured product (1) turned inside out is provided with a glue pattern; turning the semimanufactured product (1) so that its inner surface is turned inwards. The present invention also relates to a device for carrying out said process and the semimanufactured products obtained with said process.
Abstract:
The present application teaches a device and method for adjusting the width, girth, and foot shape of an article of footwear (22). Lasting boards (79) having different configurations and alternate positions for selectively affixing various portions of an upper (23) can be used to adjust and customize the fit of an article of footwear (22) for an individual wearer. The lasting board (79) can also comprise a spring element (51) which can provide improved cushioning, stability, running economy, and a long service life. Unlike the conventional foam materials presently being used by the footwear industry, the spring element (51) is not substantially subject to compression set degradation and can provide a relatively long service life. The components of the article of footwear (22) including the upper (23), insole (31), lasting board (79) and/or spring element (51), and sole (32) including possible midsole (26) and outsole (43) portions can be selected from a range of options, and can be easily removed and replaced, as desired. Further, the relative configuration and functional relationship as between the forefoot (58), midfoot (67) and rearfoot (68) areas of the article of footwear (22) can be readily modified and adjusted. Accordingly, the article of footwear (22) can be customized by a wearer or specially configured for a select target population in order to optimize desired performance criteria. Moreover, the present invention teaches a novel method of manufacturing an article of footwear (22), and also, a novel way of doing both retail and Internet business.
Abstract:
A machine includes at least one magazine (C) for storing a stack of under-toes (P), situated in a pick up station (50), in which the under-toes are picked up. In a working station (60), a picked up under-toe (P) is applied to a forepart of a shoe upper (T) resting on a support surface (61). The under-toe is picked up by a pick up device (31) from the magazine (C), and then transferred to the application station (60), while an adhesive previously applied to an under-toe lower surface is simultaneously activated before the under-toe is applied to the forepart of the upper and finally, pressed thereonto with a predetermined force and for a predetermined period of time.
