Abstract:
An umbrella includes an anti-inversion mechanism that is configured to apply to each rib assembly a force that counters an inversion force that is applied to the umbrella. The anti-inversion mechanism includes a first elongated member that is coupled at a first end to one rib of the plurality of ribs. The umbrella also includes a second elongated member having a first end coupled to the first elongated member. A first connector is coupled to a distal end of the distal rib; and a second connector is coupled to a second end of the first elongated member. The first connector and the second connector are coupled to one another to securely attach the second elongated member to the distal rib.
Abstract:
An umbrella has a plurality of ribs attached to a runner by main struts. The umbrella has an anti-inversion mechanism formed of a plurality of anti-inversion struts. Each anti-inversion strut is pivotally coupled to one respective main strut and is pivotally connected to a floating joint member that is freely movable along a length of one respective rib. The anti-inversion mechanism also includes a stop that is fixedly attached to the rib and restricts the degree of travel of the floating joint member along the rib and is positioned to prevent the respective rib from inverting in response to an applied force.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a screen (1) comprising a canvas (2), optionally configured as a parasol (1), in which the screen (1) is convertible between an unfolded position and a folded-up position, in which the screen (1) is provided with a cover (5), in which the cover (5) is connected to the screen (1) in such a manner that said cover (5) is substantially situated on one side of the canvas (2) in the first position of the screen (1) and the cover (5) substantially surrounds the folded-up screen (1) in the second position of the screen (1).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a parasol of the type comprising a plurality of telescopically extendable cylindrical bodies and a canopy that can be extended using a plurality of rods. The parasol is characterised in that a first securing part is inserted into the first body using a torque rod and said securing part comprises a handle for controlling the unfolding in a second body on which is mounted a third cylindrical body of smaller diameter, said third body including a projection that is inserted into a hole that secures the assembly. The invention also includes a stationary element that is secured to the canopy and to the hinged reinforcing rods which are, in turn, joined to a moving element that moves freely along the third body as far as a stop element that serves as a limit stop on the path of a third part.
Abstract:
Generally speaking, an umbrella having a frame (14) formed by a plurality of rod members (20) joined together by a plurality of hinges (22), is disclosed. The frame forms a periphery of a shape, such as a circle, square, hexagon, etc., and the frame is capable of movement between a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration. A canopy (12) is attached to the frame, and may be detachable there from, and is also capable of movement with the frame between the folded configuration and the unfolded configuration. A stem (16) having a first end attached to the frame' along the periphery and extending there from allows the user to position the umbrella to achieve ideal coverage during use. The stem may include a handle (26) formed at a second end opposite the first end, for improved gripping and control of the umbrella.
Abstract:
A lighter than air structure where the entire structure can in one action absorb wind as the wind makes contact by the turning, tumbling or rotating action of the structure and which action simultaneously drives a generator to produce electricity as in figure 14b.
