Abstract: A method for manufacturing a device for insertion into a vaginal or rectal cavity. The method comprises providing an anchor element to be worn outside the vaginal or rectal cavity when the device is in use and forming a line of weakness in the externally wearable anchor element such that the anchor element is disposed to fold about the line of weakness. Forming the line of weakness comprises imprinting the anchor element to form the line of weakness.

Abstract: A sealing apparatus for use in a method of manufacturing a device for insertion into a vaginal or rectal cavity. The sealing apparatus comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is configured to support at least part of an anchor element of a device and at least part of a protective sheath of a device. At least one of the first and second portions is movable relative to the other to a position so that the second portion applies pressure to the anchor element and sheath when the anchor element and sheath are supported by the first portion. One of the first and second portions comprises a heating element configured to apply heat to thermally seal a portion of the sheath to a portion of the anchor element. One of the first and second portions comprises a first end configured to apply pressure to the portions of the sheath and anchor element to be sealed, wherein the first end comprises a resiliently deformable material.
