Abstract: A fluid filtration system is provided. The system includes a filter head and a filter cartridge removably coupled to the filter head. The filter cartridge includes a shell housing defining a first housing end, a second housing end, and a housing sidewall extending between the first housing end and the second housing end. The filter cartridge further includes a filter element received within the shell housing and removably coupled to the shell housing. The filter element includes a media pack and an endplate. The media pack is configured to filter matter from a fluid flowing therethrough. The endplate is coupled to an end of the media pack. The endplate includes an expansible sealing member extending axially away from the endplate in a direction opposite to the media pack and having a compliant portion. The expansible sealing member is configured to expand in diameter when the expansible sealing member engages the shell housing.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid filter (6, 12), preferably a fuel filter, for a vehicle, said filter comprising a filter head (36) delimiting an inlet port (19) and an outlet port (21), a filter housing (30) which is to be screwed below the filter head (36) and which contains a filter element (32) centred on a central axis (X38), said filter element including a filter medium (38), a top end plate (42) and a bottom end plate (40). The filter housing (30) delimits a first volume for receiving a flow of liquid to be filtered, said first volume being delimited radially around the filter medium (38) and communicating with the inlet port (19) and a second volume for receiving a flow of filtered liquid, said second volume being delimited radially inside the filter medium (38) and communicating with the outlet port (21). The filter head (36) includes an anti-leakage valve (50) comprising a closing element (52) that is movable between a closed position in which it closes off the inlet port (19) and an open position in which the liquid can flow through the inlet port (19) and the filter (6, 12) further includes a pin (54) that is fitted on the filter element (32) and that is configured to penetrate inside the inlet port (19) so as to move the closing element (52) from the closed position to the open position.

Abstract: A fluid collection container includes a self-supporting, collapsible bag with a threaded cylindrical inlet ring or spout and a strainer removably seated within the ring. The strainer can separate a macroscopic solid object from a viscous liquid. The fluid collection container includes a rectangular prismatic box with the spout extending through and a threaded cap removably coupled to the spout. A method of draining automotive oil includes positioning the bag beneath an oil pan of an automobile, removing an oil plug from the automotive oil pan and allowing the oil plug to fall into the strainer; draining the automotive oil through the strainer into the bag; removing an oil filter from the automobile; removing the strainer from the inlet; inserting the oil filter; and screwing a threaded the cap onto the inlet.
