Abstract: Filter cartridge arrangements, features thereof and assembly for use therewith, are provided. Selected filter cartridge features are disclosed. Methods of assembly and systems for use are described. The safety or secondary filter cartridge includes an extension of media, typically surrounding an open filter interior and having a first end and a second end. In general, the open filter interior of the secondary or safety cartridge is large enough to accommodate a primary or main filter cartridge therein. In preferred configurations, the media either: has no pleats; or, if pleated, preferably has no pleats greater than about 3 millimeters in depth, more preferably no greater than 2 mm in depth.

Abstract: Separation media includes a membrane and a plurality of ligands immobilized on the membrane, the plurality of ligands comprising anion-exchange ligands, cation-exchange ligands, thiophilic ligands, hydrophilic ligands, hydrophobic interaction ligands, or a combination thereof. The separation media may be multimodal. The separation media may be configured for separation of target molecules comprising a nucleic acid, nucleotide, nucleoside, nucleobase, or an analogue or derivative thereof, from a reaction mixture. The separation media may be configured for use with organic solvents. A separation device includes the separation media. Materials including a nucleic acid, nucleotide, nucleoside, nucleobase, or an analogue or derivative thereof, may be purified at high speeds using the separation device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a filter element comprising a filter medium pack and a support arrangement comprising at least a shell member, and wherein a portion of the shell member is thermally welded to a circumferential face of the filter medium pack. The present disclosure further relates to a method of manufacturing such a filter element, the method comprising heating at least a portion of the shell member of the support arrangement, positioning the shell member around the circumferential face of the filter medium pack, pushing the heated circumferential portion of the shell member against the circumferential face of the filter medium pack, and allowing the circumferential portion of the shell member to cool down.

Abstract: This disclosure describes filter media and mask filters and face mask systems including those filter media. In one aspect, the filter media includes a fibrous media including multi- component binder fibers, glass fibers, and microfibrillated cellulose fibers. In some aspects, the fibrous media further includes PET fibers. In another aspect, the filter media includes an electrostatically charged filter media, a fine fiber layer, and a scrim. In yet another aspect, the filter media includes two fine fiber layers, and two scrims. In additional aspects, the filter media includes bicomponent fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, and microfibrillated cellulose fibers. In a further aspect, the filter media includes a support layer, a continuous fine fiber layer, and an efficiency layer. Combinations and composites of the filter media are also contemplated.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to an ostomy bag filter. In an embodiment, a filter assembly for venting gas from an ostomy bag is included having a first layer, an adhesive layer, an adsorbent element, and a second layer, the second layer configured to be welded to the ostomy bag at an annular weld area surrounding the second opening; wherein the adhesive layer is configured to adhere to the first layer, the adsorbent element, and the second layer, such that the first opening overlaps with the second opening; wherein the filter assembly is configured such that, when the filter assembly is welded over to the ostomy bag, gas from the ostomy bag flows axially through the adsorbent element and exits the filter assembly through the second opening; and wherein perimeters of the first layer, the adhesive layer, and the second layer are substantially aligned. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: An air cleaner assembly for filtering intake air for a power plant can include a filter cartridge disposed within a housing of the air cleaner assembly, a precleaner assembly including at least one particle separator for separating particulates from an airflow stream and a scavenge port for discharging the separated particulates, the precleaner assembly being located upstream of the filter cartridge, a scavenge system for evacuating the separated particulates out of the scavenge port, the scavenge system including an electric motor coupled to an fan, an input sensor generating an input signal relating to a parameter associated with one or more of the precleaner assembly, the air cleaner assembly, a power plant receiving air from the air cleaner assembly, and a vehicle associated with the power plant, and a controller for operating the speed of the scavenge system based on the input signal from the input sensor.
