The present invention provides a centrifugal separator (1) for cleaning gas containing contaminants. The separator (1) comprises a stationary casing (2), enclosing a separation space (3) through which a gas flow is permitted, said stationary casing comprising a surrounding side wall (4), an upper end wall (5) and a lower end wall (6), a gas inlet (20) extending through the stationary casing (2) and permitting supply of the gas to be cleaned, a rotating member (7) comprising a plurality of separation members (9) arranged in said separation space (3) and being arranged to rotate around an axis (X) of rotation. The separator (1) further comprises a gas outlet (28) arranged in the stationary casing (2) and configured to permit discharge of cleaned gas and comprising an outlet opening through a wall of the stationary casing (2), a drainage outlet (29) arranged in a lower portion of the stationary casing (2) and configured to permit discharge of liquid contaminants separated from the gas to be cleaned; a drive member (22) for rotating the rotating member (7). The centrifugal separator (1) further comprises at least one guiding vane (40) arranged for guiding separated liquid impurities on the inner surface (6a) of the lower end wall (6) from a radial outer position to the drainage outlet (29). The centrifugal separator (1) further comprises a radial disc element (50) arranged on top of the at least one guiding vane (40), wherein the radial disc element (50) extends radially in the separation space (3) to a position that is radially inwards from the surrounding side wall (4), thereby forming an annular channel (60) for separated liquid impurities at the inner surface (4a) of the surrounding side wall (4).

A centrifugal separator (1) is disclosed configured to separate liquid and solid particles from a flow of gas generated by a machine (3). The centrifugal separator (1) comprises a centrifugal rotor (5), a hydraulic drive arrangement (7, 9) configured to rotate the centrifugal rotor (5), a hydraulic connection (11) for connecting the hydraulic drive arrangement (7, 9) to a hydraulic circuit (13) of the machine (3), and a connecting portion (15) for connecting the centrifugal separator (1) to the machine (3). The hydraulic connection (11) is arranged on the connecting portion (15), and the connecting portion (15) is configured to be inserted into a connecting aperture (19) of the machine (3). The present disclosure further relates to a machine (3) comprising a centrifugal separator (1).

Combined filtering and centrifuging system (1) for purifying an aqueous fluid, comprising: a container (2), filtering elements (4), a feeding tube (11) for the fluid to be purified, an outlet tube (12) for the purified fluid, outlet tubes for solids (15, 13), wherein the container (2) accommodates the filtering and centrifuging means, a rotational tubular hollow shaft (3), axially passing through said container (2) and supporting the filtering elements (4) through an annular core being provided with channels for the fluid to pass from the filtering elements (4) towards the shaft (3); a spacer (6) located between the filtering elements (4); a rotary seal (7) and bearings (8) which provide the shaft (3) with support, and a purifying process using said combined system (1).

In order to prevent air from being sucked into the separation chamber (12) of a counter-current type of centrifugal separator through the liquid outlet (24) thereof during the normal operation the separator a liquid trap in form of a well (28) is provided in the bottom of the separator housing (10). An outlet conduit (32) opens into the lower part of the well (28), wherein the well (28), at least in its upper part, has a substantially larger cross-sectional area than that of the outlet conduit (32).
